Exactly. So when your bad product starts dumping what do you do....CHANGE THE NAME PERHAPS? Then you start the marketing cycle all over with a new 'fresh' name that people don't equate with trash.

Slap on the well known EA brand name, get the marketing team working on some hip new buzzwords for the otherwise common features in your game, release 1001 great looking screenshot - yet none depecting an actaul in game picture (same with videos), host big media parties and events and invite up all the reviewers for shwag and food....

Yeah, your right. That marketing thing does't work anymore...

Although you have to give EA some credit. With a budget and staff probably twice the size of ASB and ESPN's combine they have started to catch up.

That's a very poor argument also. You're insinuating the only thing the developers have done with the MVP series is change the name.

Triple Play is dead. They re-did everything. I hated the Triple Play series, but I can see MVP for it's good points... but to make a statement with the meaning behind it claiming MVP is the same as Triple Play.

That's just silly.

If you have MVP for the PC installed. Take a look in the install directory. You find a few files with TP in the beginning of the name. Plus a whole TP folder. Not saying that stands for Triple Play, but I have a feeling they did redo everything from scratch, but were going to call it TP at first. Then the marketing Genius' said, hmm. Let's change the name

You gotta admit, last years MVP with the hold up for popflys, down for grounders thing sure felt like triple play

Everything I said above is going to a far extreme, I just found it humurous when I opened up that directory one time. yeah, I am a bit bored at work as you can tell..

That's fine and dandy. I could care less who has what budget. The topic was why is MVP getting all this press. I feel because it'a good game. I don't care how many people make it, or market it, doesn't matter. OOTP is made by one guy and it's a GREAT game.

That's fine and dandy. I could care less who has what budget. The topic was why is MVP getting all this press. I feel because it'a good game. I don't care how many people make it, or market it, doesn't matter. OOTP is made by one guy and it's a GREAT game.
