Why is it All-Star Baseball 2005 and not 2004 considering this season doesn't even come near to the year 2005. Way back on N64 did Acclaim just try to push the game ahead a year to "2000" to make it seem "cooler" to get more sales and now they can't obviously repeat the same year/name as the year prior?

Not really sure who started the trend. I mean last year we had ASB, MLB and High Heat all 2004. It always seemed odd to me too. But until you have a new console or or a new name, you really can't change the system. -

I remember reading somewhere that it was to trick uninformed consumers (mainly parents) into thinking "Oh - All Star Baseball has the year 2005 in it - it must be the newer game versus the older MVP Baseball 2004"Comment
