to this day i think that the bases loaded series captured the realism of baseball. they used the directional hitting that long ago. down for the low pitch up for the high pitch and how you could hit it the opposite way if you waited on the pitch. who made that game? jalico or was it some one else?

actually hardball (or hardballs as i called it when i was playing it at age 12) on the comodore64 (yes that 64 stands for what you think it does, lol...) had zone hitting before bases loaded, i think some of the asb developers worked on the old hardball games as well.

on a side note my favorite baseball games from that era were
      1. the original baseball stars, tremendous game...

      2. the ARCADE version of RBI baseball, the rosters for each franchise was made up of a and the teams all-time greats. good stuff...

I loved Baseball Stars! No one could touch the American Dreamers. The first game where you could create a team.

Yup, I remember the countless hours of playing the lovely ladies on 2p. Walk in 10 runs, get your cash, rinse and repeat .

Baseball Stars is the reason I still have my NES hooked up

BTW, my logo to the left is from Baseball Stars on the NeoGeo. I just slapped my head in there

I loved both games! Bases Loaded did make you feel like you were really playing baseball.
Baseball Stars was awesome. I believe it was the first game that let you scale the wall to rob a homerun. Also, that zombie team was awesome.
