is this official word yet? i mean Acclaim offical, not EB/Gametop "official".....all this really does though, is help EA....i mean, from my standpoint, i was going to get ASB and only rent MVP, but if its the first game out, and by a full 2 weeks, there is NO WAY i possess the patience to wait that out, just will not happen....thats not a complaint, merely a reality

For those that can afford more than one game this is a great thing. You can buy MVP, play it for a while see if you like it and then go off to get ASB when it comes out.

In fact cuz I am a PS2 owner I was forced to have to do that anyways. So it's really an ideal situation for me.

Yes but the bigger the publisher the fewer the bugs , it's like a Copperfield act, most reviewers just don't find anything wrong with the EA franchises. HMMMMMMMmmm, I wonder why?? Could it be that they receive nice perks?? Me say this business is very trixy indeed my little hobbits. <font color="blue"> </font>

Gamestop apparently still lists 3/9 for the XBox and 3/23 for the PS2. Hmm...

I'm gonna go next tuesday or wednesday and get MVP, play it for a couple weeks then trade it in and get ASB...I have to have a baseball game as soon as i can get one.

If anything, the goal is to get out BEFORE an EA Sports product. MVP is going to sell like crazy, there are people already sold on it, and the ones on the fence will see it's the only baseball game, and pick it up. ASB will just be lost in the shuffle now, because they are coming out same day as ESPN which will also outsell it. I don't know why you delay a game for 2 weeks or what difference that makes, but I would feel from a marketing stand point, it kills any momentum you may have had.

I have to agree with you on this killing *some* of the momentum ASB had. There are a lot of people who are impatient, and might not be able to wait. ASB will still sell, just might not be a big first day as originally thought.

I don't think I can wait another 2 weeks personnely for ASB. I am going crazy waiting I will pick up MVP for sure now, and get ASB a few weeks after it is released.
