New to ASB, have some questions

I have been a High Heat player, due to the realistic control of fielders and the variety of hits ... I was originally swept up by the hype of MVP and was set on getting it upon release. But I have taken a wait and see attitude lately, because of ASB and your posts. I was one who heard about(and never played ASB) the game play issues of past editions and assumed that this years itineration would be the same. But after doing some research, it appears that much of the "issues" may have been resolved. My question is, How has the fielder control been in past games of ASB and how will it be in ASB 2005 (for those that know ) compared to HH? Coming from High Heat, I loved the control I had as a fielder, and the stats. And I crave the control I had. After researching , this game is very intriguing and any insight from players as compared to HH woul be appreciated. I have more questions, but as I am not as coherent as I want to be(i.e. drunk) I will wait to ask them in a more fluent manner Anyways, I eagerly await your responses and insight.

Re: New to ASB, have some questions

Controlling multiple baserunners was very hard in ASB last year. I went from playing HH to MVP to ASB. They all have things about them that drive me crazy. Switching back and forward between the games to quickly had me pushing the wrong button a few times during important parts of a game but now that most of the games use the same button combinations, I expect to have a hard time deciding on which ONE game to buy. That's what renting is for, I guess!!!

The stat tracking on ASB is as good, if not better than it was on High Heat. MVP's roster management and box score display last year was awful. EA needs to put some Madden touches and skill into MVP this year??? Come NFL season, it is easy to pick a game to buy and play!!! They make it, I buy it.

Anyone else? I have been checking out the MVP forum and will rent MVP, but for some reason I am more excited about ASB. I hope the fielding is smooth and I have complete control. The new fielder cam sounds cool. Anyone buy or rent MVP and still are eagerly waiting ASB? Anyways, I can't wait until it is finally released so I can give it a shot.

I have been playing MVP all day today. It is a great game, but I still enjoy ASB 2004 more. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of ASB05

Hehe, I was hoping to hear from you Ed_Farias I saw that you bought MVP on the MVP forum and was wondering if you still wanted ASB after playing MVP. Glad to hear that you do want ASB and I hope you are enjoying MVP. God I hope ASB comes out soon, I want to be able to hold out to try them all before I buy, but waiting is hard. I want instant gratification Please ASB come out soon. I am weak. Must stay strong, must stay stong.

Re: New to ASB, have some questions

Yeah, I was waiting hard too. But I actually had the day off from work today, so I just thought I would ask around to see if any stores had MVP in. Gamecrazy had one copy, so I went and grabbed it.

It's a fun game, I don't think I could got through a whole a whole season, let alone several like I did with ASB 2004. You can just tell that the ASB Dev's hearts are in baseball. It is not that way with EA. I mean some of the stadiums just look aweful. How can you be a baseball game dev, and not even take the time get the color of a stadium right. Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix is dark green. In the game is a like a blue/purple mix. I was pretty stunned actually. Unless the BOB changed this year and I have no idea what I am talking about . But they don't have the dirt path from the mound to the plate either, so I have a feeling they just decided to make it purple .

Anyway, that is a pretty small gripe. I don't expect all the little things to be perfect in MVP, it is just not that type of game.

So yes, I cannot wait for ASB05 .
