BK - I agree w/ you and SoMiss..my major gripe was the hiting interface. Classic yielded nothing but flyballs, line drives, and gappers, 3D Cursor was skewed, and using zone, it was impossible to hit anything out of the middle 1/3 of the field.
Ultimately, that's why I gave up on it. You can't beat ASB for the graphics, atmosphere, commentary and stadiums IMO, but they must improve the hitting.
Lack of sliders concerns me also, for the reasons Pared stated. IN previous incarnations of All Star, I had to switch between Veteran and All Star, depending on whether I was pitching or hitting. Hitting was too easy for me on Veteran, pitching too difficult on All Star (especially in terms of power). I don't like being forced to choose between one difficulty level or another without modification. As Pared indicated, changing from one level to another simply to address hitting might skew all of the other areas of gameplay that otherwise were dead on.
But, here's hoping Acclaim pulls it off.
