Re: The First Round-Up is Out

I think that we are all afraid that with these bad reviews that eventually Acclaim will be forced to stop making ASB. We are all in panic mode especially because of Acclaims money woes and we don't want Acclaim and the ASB franchise to go the way of High Heat. Here's to many more annual editions of my favorite baseball game series

There's no way that ASB deserves a 7.2 and MVP a 9+. Unless the guy had his mind made up before he even played ASB. I own this year's MVP, and I think last year's ASB plays a much better game. I really kind've hope that MLB turns out to be the best of them all, though. The one thing still holding ASB back IMO is the bat/ball collision detection. (And it could use a little bit better replays).

He said it will be out soon. Yippeeee!

I love the new fielding approach. I think I read over at NLGaming that it takes some getting used to but it is a very nice feature. Maybe this reviewer just looked at it once, jotted his notes and turned it off.

However, in the future you might consider calling EA with any new ideas you have for ASB and asking them to impletment the feature in MVP first. Then that particular feature would be harelded as 'the best thing since slided bread' and instead of you guys innovating a 'hit and miss' feature you could impletment a 'poor immitation'....but deep down you would know it was your idea all along. I think it would improve your score though.

Better yet, maybe you guys at Acclaim are going about this game thing all wrong. I think maybe instead of listening to fans, and pouring your time and love into making the best game you can you should just fly the OS crew out to the Acclaim Ranch for a big BBQ with open bar and lots of schwag. Let them play around with the ASB 2006 prebuild for a few and who knows - next year maybe you guys will get the 93.

Re: The First Round-Up is Out

Why is there so much of a "anti EA vibe" on the boards?

If I read about MVP in the ASB boards, I only want to see if it people are comparing the games, somehow connecting MVP to something ASB relaated. I hate it when I see people hinting at EA "bribing" OS.

The key words in your post were "I think". You think MVP doesn't deserve the 9, but the reviewer does. It doesn't make the reviewer wrong and you right. It doesn't make you wrong and the reviewer right. It means that there are different opinions. Why would he "have to have his mind made up before playing ASB"?
