Has ASB corrected these GAMEPLAY issues?

-Pin point control of the user controlled pitchers? This is huge.

-80-90% of the balls hit were hit in the air?

-80-90% of the balls hit on the ground were hit either to the middle or left side of field?

-Better break on pitches? "Exaggerated Pitching" helped but not a whole lot.....With it turned off, everything felt like a tailing fastball.

-CPU aggressiveness on the base paths? Do they still run station to station?

-Higher probabilitiy of a runner on 2nd base scoring on a base hit up the middle?

-Zone hitting that actually isn't broken like last year?

-Having control over where you want to hit the ball? Last year it felt extremely random.

I enjoyed the game last year because it really did a fantastic job of representing baseball well. With the unbelievable player models and stadiums, excellent commentary, etc it really felt like being at the park. However, the above underlining issues stuck out like a sore thumb that ultimately killed the game for me. Each year Acclaim claims (funny how "claim" is in the developer's name) they have improved the gameplay, but each year it proves it wasn't their primary focus. I truly want this game to be the "end all" of baseball games but it's always lacked significant gameplay issues. I can't be alone on these issues, can I?

I guess at this point it is all a matter of opinion, plus I believe only Steve has played the game.

-Pin point control of the user controlled pitchers? This is huge.
ASB_Man said this has been addressed.

-80-90% of the balls hit were hit in the air?
I never noticed this problem with zone hitting. I would hit the ball all over the field, on the ground and in the air. Lack of foul balls though.

-80-90% of the balls hit on the ground were hit either to the middle or left side of field?
See above, I never really noticed this. I do know that a majority of ground balls in MLB are hit up the middle, that is why your SS, 2B and CF tend to be your best fielders. But anyway, that is probably just starting a debate, which is not my intentions

-Better break on pitches? "Exaggerated Pitching" helped but not a whole lot.....With it turned off, everything felt like a tailing fastball.
Skipping this one because I am not sure what you mean.

-CPU aggressiveness on the base paths? Do they still run station to station?
ASB_Man said this has been addressed as well.

-Higher probabilitiy of a runner on 2nd base scoring on a base hit up the middle?
ASB_Man said this has been addressed as well.

-Zone hitting that actually isn't broken like last year?
See above, I have had absolutely no problems with zone hitting. I have played around 200 games I am guessing.

-Having control over where you want to hit the ball? Last year it felt extremely random.
ou mean the 3d cursor? Or based on timing? I agree with you here. You could try to be late on an outside fastball and it would not always go that way. ASB_Man said Zone hitting was made the default batting style this year, so it was worked on the most.

I don't think you are alone. Many other people have had similar complaints to last years games. Since I enjoyed last years game so much, it is a no brainer that I will love it this year. But you might want to wait and maybe some of us can answer these questions better once we have the game.

I think these are the questions on everyone's mind. I certainly hope so, but there isn't much "buzz" on this year's game. That worries me more than a bit. I went ahead and pre-ordered the game, because with all of the problems with the franchise mode in MVP, ASB is my last hope for a complete baseball game this year (I don't like Sega's offerings). It will probably end up like every other year, where I wish I could combine the gameplay of one game (MVP) with the features of another (ASB). I sure hope I am wrong! We'll find out soon enough!

O loved everything about ASB last year except the fielding. Sorry dives and vacuum gloves are a game killer to me. I hated thinking I had a line drive gapper that was ove the 2nd basemans head by 5 feat then voom it is sucked in his glove. If this is fixed I might try the game.

All of these gameplay questions are addressed in detail in the "Questions for ASB Man" sticky thread.

But just generally, the development team heard all of the complaints about the gameplay and made an effort to improve it in every way possible. Most of the problems have either been eliminated or "greatly reduced" according to the devs. That includes pinpoint accuracy, vacuum catches, and so on.
