    I must be alone here...

First let me say I may be completely alone, but I LOVE this game and reading the impressions thread, I think Acclaim designed this game specifically for me and me only. I have no beefs with the vacuum catches and bat/ball collision problems, just like I have no problem with passes in every football title really hitting the recievers in the forearm and magically sliding into their hands. ZERO consequence. On a big first down play, does it really matter? Yeah..I wish Acclaim could spend the 300,000.00 dollars it takes for a blowout mo-cap session like the mighty EA can, but they can't. Simple and plain. I think EA fielders making circus catches on balls they should NOT be able to get to once per inning is a little worse than suspect animations on plays that a fielder WOULD get to, IMO.

Anywho, I'm having an absolute blast with this game, my only wish was that nothing that wasn't broke last year would be broke this year, so I'm a happy man. I never liked a zone system so all the complaints about it mean nothing to me. I use the 3D cursor, sim speed, off-set camera, no aids on HOF using the analog swings, and it FEELS great. Kinda' sucks for zone users though...I would recommend any zoner to play around with the batting options, there are a million combinations to choose from.

Also I'm glad Acclaim adressed so many things like the "hold down the swing button for fastballs" glitch from last year. It allowed you to get around on ANY fastball by holding swing before the release. My little brother did that ish ALL the time. Now you gotta time the fastballs honestly and i'm glad they fixed it. Remember guys, don't swing too early.

Does anyone else love the fact that warmup swings now include knocking the dirt from your spikes, and tapping the plate?

While I respect your wants and opinions, I don't agree. I do have a problem with football games that the ball "magicall" appear in the receivers handetc.. and so I have a problem with a baseball that is 10 feet away from a fielder and then they have the ball in the glove. For a baseball game that is unacceptable , period. IMO.

Why? Say you hit the ball and decide to go for a double because the ball is not near the fielder. Then all of a sudden the fielder has the ball and guns you down. That's a lot different than having a football that is actually hitting a player then switches to their hands. Both are problems but it's far far more damaging in the baseball game...
In fact if the ball was near the fielder(like the football example) that would be a lot better than a 10 foot difference in location.
Hopefully my game will come today and I can make up my own mind.

I'm loving this too...has noticable flaws (what game does not?)Not too woried about the cosmetic ones...much more concerned about gameplay issues. but i'm hoping they patch some with the first roster release.

the "ball vaccuum" thing is completely unnoticable, IMO, using the fielder cam.....just mentioning....i have seen it, though, on the other cameras...it didnt effect gameplay, but its certainly odd

I'll play devil's advocate here. The problem about the ball appearing 10 feet away then mysteriously caught is a graphical glitch, no doubt about that. We use 10 feet for arguments sake. But the 2 times it has happened when i played, the outfielder was running at the ball to pick it up. Now maybe it's just me, but unless the player was after the ball, i would not take the base knowing that he is so close to it anyways, that it would be easy for him to make a play.

I have yet to see this glitch when, for example, the ball is hit in a gap and the player is chasing after it; only when the player is running towards it. YMMV however.

Then again maybe there are situations where this would be an issue, but thankfully it has not affected me.
