Here is how Classic baserunning is done. I had to bust out my instruction booklet from last year to get this info.

    To steal:
Press the Y button and the direction of the base you are currently on.

    General baserunning:
    D-Pad : Individual runner select

Y button : Advance runner + directional pad

B button : Return single runner + directional pad

Press right thumbstick : Stop all runners

Left trigger : Advance all runners

Right trigger : Return all runners

Hope this helps out. I always use classic baserunning.

Speaking of stealing, how do you steal? Maybe I am doing it wrong but can you queue a guy up to steal and he will take off when the ball is released. It seems like I have to manually time it and press the buttons at the correct moment? Too many times I have jumped before the ball is released and the pitcher turns around and throws me out by a mile.

      Re: Baserunning

The instrucions are not specific enough.

To advance a single runner, it's hold the button corresponding to the base the runner is on (B for 1b runner, Y for 2b, X for 3b) and then press L. To retreat, it's hold the same buttons and then press R.

On classic baserunning, it's hold Y and then press gamepad. (Right for 1b runner, Up for 2b, Left for 3b, etc). To retreat, it's hold B and then press gamepad.

Sounds complicated but you get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Basestealing: There's no queuing on higher difficulty levels.
