How are injuries in YOUR franchise?

I've played all 55 games so far in my franchise and my team is already pretty bad. I've already had to place Furcal on the 60 day DL. Just a few days after calling up Wilson Betemit (created) I also lost him to the 60 day DL after tearing his MCL in a slide at first. About 3 weeks later i lost Adam LaRoche (created) for 10-12 MONTHS.

So, until mid-July, i've got to rely on horrible hitting by Mike Hessman and Jesse Garcia as replacements for Furcal. I went and picked up Travis Lee off the FA list for 1B depth and a couple of days later, I was able to snag Darin Erstad off waivers. I placed him in AAA for now but will be calling him up soon.

Injuries are a part of the game, but come game 162 I don't want to have a completely unrealistic lineup due to season ending or 2-3 month injuries. I dread the day I lost Chipper, Andruw, or JD to a huge injury.

It seems like most injuries come on double plays at 2nd and dives at or near walls. So, I rarely ever dive for balls anymore for fear of losing yet another player to injury.

I am also trying to break the habit of diving for foul balls that I have no chance of catching.

I have had some injuries, but they have all been fairly realistic. No season ending injuries, but my clean up hitter did miss a month....that sucked.

Well I have several day-to-day injuries and then came the big one. Jason Giambi was lost for the year after tearing his MCL while making a diving catch. Something I did notice though with the d2d injuries is that if your player is yellow or red(on the color fatigue bar) he is more likely to get an injury.

I get a lot of small nagging injuries, and only Vernon Wells played 162 games. Bobby Crosby got hit by the injury bug and missed most of the year with a broken jaw (He entered the game to "Through The Wire" by Kanye after that..) and then got a broken fibula..so he just had bad luck.

I play manage only...and have had ...
1. Cliff Floyd go day to day with the Flu..for almost a month!!
2. Cliff Floyd (what a friggin' surprise!) out for a month with a sprained wrist.
3. Karim Garcia out for two weeks with an abdominal injury...then make it back only to go day to day(still able to play..but he was batting like .250) for the season up to the all star break. I guess he is not getting over his injury..which I can see actually happening. In all..I like the injuries this year.

These are my Cubs injuries as of May 19, 2004:

Paul Bako broken toe on the 60 day DL due back mid July.
Todd Walker broken finger due back mid-late June.
Jose Macias broken arm on the 60 day DL due back mid July.

I've also had quite a few day-to-day injuries. I like dealing with injuries it makes you more of a manager.
Coming is my style, but I have to go.
