    Re: Your advice please.

You could try the 2D cursor. That should bring down the average a bit.

I have struggled with pitching as well. It actually got a little better for me when I turned off the strike zone....perhaps I was throwing too many strikes? I also have the defensive positioning set to auto.

I have also noticed that the CPU hitting seems just as tough on rookie as it does on the higher levels. They should add a pitching tutorial next year.

Well I am not one to check hot and cold zones but that might help. What I do is mix it up all over the place in and out of the strike zone. For example, I will throw a fastball up and in for a ball. Then I will come right back with a slider so that it catches the inside corner. Or I will throw a slider off the zone, away from hitters and then follow it with the fastball, or even a change. Dont get in a habit of always throwing low or high within the strike zone. Its ok to keep it in the middle as long as you are moving the pitches out and in. Just keep working on it and things should start clicking for you.

Throw a lot of changeups. Throw them more than any other pitch. Throw them low in the corners. Hitters will pop up or ground out. Mix them up with high fastballs and the occasional breaking ball.

I would definetly turn off the strike zone... I find that if I throw high outside more I pitch better... stay away from low and inside unless you are matched up righty-righty or lefty-lefty... If I am pitching with someone that can throw hard I will throw an occasional High inside fastball (esp if they have a good cutter and are working against the opposite handed hitter so it moves in on their hands)...

Do you have any generated pitch counts on??? I go with 1-0 counts for every at bat...

SO in a nutshell... work mostly low and away and high and away with the best pitches your pitcher has... if you get ahead in the count throw a few balls... Curves work well (esp if they are right down the middle and end up about 1 ft below his knees)...

One other thing if you haven't learned about what the colors around each pitch mean then you should pay alot of attention to that... (Green-good stuff, Yellow-decent stuff, Red-bad stuff) I typically stay with Yellow and Green pitches if I can and mix in a few red pitches when I am going to throw a ball or once every 2nd or 3rd batter...

Thanks for the great responses! And I din't know about the greem-yellow-red around the pitches. Thank you!

I HAVE gotten a little better. I turned off all the aids and crap and that has helped a lot. I also moved up to all-star level. It seems I have been throwing too many strikes so I'm making them chase more junk now.

I also simmed ahead a year in my expansion team and went crazy on pitching in the FA market so we'll see how it works out this year!

                        Thanks again everyone!
