    pulling w/ RH hitters

After mass struggles with 2D hitting, I am now getting games with double digit hits fairly consistently. However, one thing thats bothering me is that I can never pull the ball with authority with my right handed hitters. All my HR's and extra base hits are to right or right-center with a few to dead center and even fewer just left of the centerfielder. I've never Homered or doubled to left with any of my RH hitters(including Sosa, Alou, Ramirez, and Lee). The only time I pull it with these guys is when I jam myself and hit a slow roller or short fly to third or LF..

With my lefthanded hitters, I have no problem pulling the ball for homers and extra bases.

Anyone else noticed this? Is this a flaw in the game? I'm thininking it could be because I never hit the ball to either line with RH or LH hitters(similar to zone hitting) either. Any feedback from anyone?

Nope I get a good variety and spray the ball all over the place. I have hit wrap around the foul pole HR's, shots down the line, gappers, and anything you can think of. Its all timing.

I place the cursor on the right outside corner of home plate when waiting for the pitch. If the pitch is inside the right outside corner and you make contact it should go to left field or third base

hmmm...well, I'm glad to hear that it's not a flaw in the game. Seems to be some disagreement as to whether cursor placement has anything to do with hit direction or if it's strictly timing. It seems strange that after 30-40 games I wouldn't have hit atleast 1 pulled ball hard by a right handed hitter just by accident. Like I said, I do it consistently with left handed hitters.

I'd like to hear more opinions about whether it's cursor placement or timing. I guess I'll keep working at it. Thanks so far for the input.

the combination of timing and cursor placement is the key. The bat must meet the ball on the left side of the + in the cursor icon to have a chance of going to left field. they type of pitch thrown also plays a role imo.

so the ball must be inside(between the batter and the + in the cursor) to pull the ball? If it's as simple as that, I can't believe I've never done that effectively with a RH hitter.I just don't understand how I can consistently pull the ball with authority with the few LH hitters I have and never do it with all the RH hitters I have. It's mindboggling. When I consciously try to pull it with a RH hitter, I often can; but it is always a weak grounder to 3rd or a short fly ball to left.

Meanwhile, I often crush homeruns to straight away right with Todd Hollandsworth without even consciously trying to pull the ball. Weird.
