I am not expecting huge things. A game that will keep me interested while on the road is enough. Also, we need to see what patches bring to the game even though I hate that it comes to that.

Just looking at the video, it doesn't look as bad as I thought, might be also the fact I'm watching the gameplay clip on a small screen. I get it's arcade but come on, they could do a LOT better!Comment

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 19 Arrives on March 5 - New Trailer and More Features Revealed
This right here is exactly the right way to go into it. I have played 8 games tonight which says something. I definitely had some fun. The positive thing about the fielding issues is at least they are mostly cosmetic. It was only detrimental to gameplay a few times.

The Switch version is what got me!Comment

Baserunning speed is unrealistically fast. Were previous iterations of the game like this as well?
EDIT: Maybe it's just how fast they accelerate out of the box.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 19 Arrives on March 5 - New Trailer and More Features Revealed
Two things are keeping me from loving my first try at RBI. Base runner speed and lack of response throwing to bases. I can deal with wonky animations from time to time but the other two things get a bit frustrating. Through three games I kept feeling like if everything would just slow down a half second they are really on to something.
For a switch user it’s well worth it. I’ll be getting Show too when the price drops. Both provide different types of games. So no use comparing the two.Comment

MLB Advanced Media should stop making the game themselves and hire Metalhead Studios (the guys behind Super Mega Baseball) to make their "casual" MLB game. Giving the Metalhead guys the MLB license with their awesome gameplay would be a huge hit.Comment

No Additional cameras
STILL haven't implemented a behind the pitcher cam
Other than that a marked improvement with player models batting and pitching animations
feilding looks wonky

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 19 Arrives on March 5 - New Trailer and More Features Revealed
Played a few innings Cardinals (me) vs Cubs last night, quick impressions:
+ camera angles much improved, both at bat and in the field, stadiums look more detailed and you can see more of them while batting and fielding.
+ load times between innings have improved. Last year you could go make a sandwich while waiting, this year it's about 5 seconds.
+ player graphics have improved, I can easily tell the difference between players and know who's up by not even looking at the name plate.
+ AI strategy is improved, over a few innings, I noticed it was possible to take a walk and the AI seemed to be taking into account who was batting.
+ HR Derby can be setup with any players and in any stadium
- bit hard to judge fly balls, maybe this will improve with time
- animations could be better, warping and suction of ball evident
- music sucks but can be turned off without affecting ballpark organ
- I had difficulty on medium but was getting pounded 7-1 in the 5th inning, maybe I just need more practice though.
Overall, I can see myself playing more this year than lastLast edited by baconbits11; 03-05-2019, 10:55 AM.Comment

I might still get this. Thinking digital just to really hate myself."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I simulated a year in franchise. Jesus Aguilar led the league with 68 HRs, Trout had 66 (42 SB). A lot of players with 50+. Only one ERA under 4.
I was playing as the Braves and my two best players were Acuna batting .373 with 30 HR, and Dansby Swanson .360, 29 HR, 28 SB.
Just figured I'd share. A very offensive sim engine I guess.Comment
