Thank you for the gameplay! It doesn't look too bad. I will get this game. Like someone else said, this is an alternative to sim. Nothing wrong with having arcade and sim baseball games. This will hold me off until March 26.

May consider getting it on the Switch but from videos I’ve watched, there seems to be frame rate issues. Anyone with the Switch, can you comment?

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 19 Arrives on March 5 - New Trailer and More Features Revealed

Alright so I'll throw some impressions out there. I own both a ps4 pro and one X so thankfully this isn't my only baseball option this year. I also am someone coming from the High Heat day and played the hell out of that.

Fired it up and first thing i did was check our franchise to see if this will be an option for those without the ps4. It's not. As others have said there is no point or monetary system so you just add who you feel whenever you feel. I believe the CPU does though as well but there literally is no offseason mode so its just do it within one day or not. There are injuries. There are trades you can initiate but after simming a season i never received a trade offer so it doesn't seem like the cpu will offer you anything. There are 3 types of trades. Unrestricted so it will be accepted regardless, loose, and strict which is supposed to be realistic. I didnt offer any trades though to test it out.

After season one, players do retire. Ellsbury and Troy Tulo both retired from the Yankees. A few others from other teams like Brian McCann but those three were the most notable. Opening day has markings on the field but they say 2019 regardless of what year you are in. You can only play 10 seasons and it doesnt appear you can switch teams at any point. I still do not get why there would be no system to add free agents with points or money. It really stinks because at least that would give you some sort of bare bones legit franchise.

Gameplay is RBI. It's not the show obviously. It doesn't play that bad though. 3 levels of difficulty. Pretty decent hit variety. Fielding is average. There is suction to the ball, throws are too fast and dont seem attribute dependant, and it plays a very arcade game. Stadiums look very good. Player models are alright. Bats look ridiculously too large lol. Colors are vibrant though. No weather that I've noticed. Just day and night. There are no different camera angles that I noticed. Game plays pretty smoothly but it's very arcade like. No pitch types as expected, just slow, fast, and curve yourself after letting go of the ball.

I guess it would be a good pick up and play game but it's not worth 30 dollars to be honest. It's also not as fun as Super Mega for the arcade style. It seems like this game was caught in between two games as if it couldn't tell if it wanted to go full out arcade or try to be realistic. Bottom line to me is that the team developing this should be ashamed of themselves for being 4 years into this and having the game at this state.

I don't have the game but I just saw a YouTube video saying that a new patch seems to have fixed the stuttering issue the game was having.

Not sure if this eas a one time occurence or a bug but...
Cpu had bases loaded with 1 out. Pop up to my catcher. Infield fly rule callled. I caught it and threw to 3rd and somehow there was a run down. Problem was, the guy at third hadnttagged up or anything. Odd.

MLB should be ashamed for promoting and putting out a product like this and charging $30. Ugg..What a disappointment.

I rather take out my old original Xbox that I still have or an xbox360 and play a decent looking baseball game that plays great from early to mid 2000 than play this "Official" MLB RBI Baseball.....SMH

You know that this is meant to be an Arcade-style game, right? One that adds news elements but keeps the old RBI style?

Xbox1. One freeze had Moustakus batting continuously like batting practice. I couldn't get out of that until I exited to the xbox1 home screen. Freeze #2 occurred with a blurry screen and a ghosting bat with a hitter in the box. I don't know if the consoles received the update, yet.

Then play what you like, it is not marketed as a "SIM" game nor is it charged at $60. I think everyone would admit The Show is better but not everyone has a PS4 or wants to shell out hundreds for one, then another $60 on top of that for the game. This is a decent option for me and others who feel that way.

Back on topic, played online for the first time last night, only took 5 min to find a game and had a lot of fun. I could compete and the animations did not take me out of making plays or cost me outs/runs. The other guy meanwhile had a bit of trouble fielding and I got a couple of cheap runs off him. Kinda felt bad for him but he kept playing til the 7th, then friendly quit and I got the win.

I was going to ask about the update. I have only played in docked mode, so I might try tonight on hand-held to see if it comes up for me. I have a list of items to send them that need patched, not like they may care, but I was going to add this one too.
