Which Game do you think you guys are going with?

I had been playing ESPN the last couple years after High Heat. I've rented all the games that have come out, but for what ever reason stayed with ESPN... i liked being able to set it so you can actually get walks. I thought 989's MLB was just a step away from being great (lacking check swings and walks) and didn't like outfield singles turning into triples in MVP.

    This year....

Seems all 3 games stepped up.

It was nice seeing in the pictures that Steve took of the Beta of 2k5 that you can turn all that corny stuff off and play "pure baseball" for game style. Seems like Kush was trying to make something that could appeal to everyone with Slamzone, showboating catches, ect and then saving the mass amount of sliders for the hardcore.

MLB on the other hand might not have the triple pass filtering that 2k5 has, but the batting stances, frame rates, and overall animation is awesome. Everytime I see a video I watch it all the way through since it's hard to believe how far video games have come from the Atari Baseball.

MVP's side modes for spring traning look nice and having gameplay that's been refined for 3yrs (which it shows in the videos) puts it on my list.

    Right now I'm stumped.
Even if all the games were 19.99 (only 2k5 now) I'd still just own one since I don't have a ton of time to put into all 3. I've stilll got other games to play like WE8, NCAA CH, and other non-sport games.

Just curious to see what you guys are leaning towards.
Can't wait to hear everyone's feedback about the games in 5 weeks from now.

I'm leaning towards ESPN and MLB, I'm not really all that interested in MVP. I think it's gonna come down to how good the Franchise and weither or not ESPN can fix some niggling little things I don't like about it that MLB already has.

    -The Grinman
    Hornets to Seattle? Hmmm....

In the past I was a WSB guy and High Heat but last year I played ASB, and MVP and stayed far away from ESPN after renting it twice. The animations just bothered me and for some reason there was so many home runs even when the difficulty level was high. MVP I was sold on last year because of the Minors, and gameplay ASB sold me on its franchise and expansion modes. This year its much of the same but MLB 2006 has impressed me a lot, so I'll be getting that and MVP. But MLB 2k5 this year I'm still not getting into it, I dont know if I grew out of the series last year but I really wanna like this game, but its just not happening.

MVP here.. I'll be buying for Xbox and of the games available for Xbox MVP is the one that seems like the best to me. I've played the last two versions, and if the third, and final, fixes the bugs/glitches found in two, I will be content.

I'm not asking much, nor am I expecting much, so I think I will like it a lot. I loved last years game, but the glitches killed it for me. Fix them for this year, and I will be happy.

Paying full price for a patch? Possibly, but if patched completely it will be the best game of baseball I've ever played.

MVP. I only had three problems with last year's MVP keeping it from being the best Baseball game I've ever played:

                1. No Lefty Homers

                2. singles/doubles turning to triples

                3. No Player Exhaustion

At least two of these three has been confirmed fixed, and the third one isn't too terribly important to me. Last years game gave you up to 120 seasons in Dynasty Mode, and we might get unlimited this year. Whatever happens it's going to be better than last year, and last year's game only had a few things missing that would keep it from lasting forever....those few things that I have mentioned having been fixed, it looks as though the last MVP game for at least 7 years may very well last those 7 years.

Well, the only one that I will be actually buying is MVP. I'm sure I will at least acquire both MLBs at some point just to give them a shot though.
