That's a pretty sad reason to own a game system. I liked last years MLB,but not to the point where I'd say it's the only reason I own a system. Heck,the fact that you couldn't take an updated roster into franchise mode last year,killed it for me.

I bought a PS2 on Saturday just so I could play MLB 2006. All I care about is baseball games, and if all I was stuck with was MVP 2004v2.0 and MLB 2k5 it would have been the most boring summer ever. Seriously, I can't stand the fact that MVP is the exact same game as last year that I already played to death, with all of the same inaccuracies - and that MLB 2k5 has as many bugs as it does.

So I had to get a PS2 because the last shot for a good, exciting baseball game is MLB 2006. If it sucks, I guess I can just get MLB 2k5 for it and at least avoid the famous kush xbox freezing.

Why do you have to judge somebody over their reasons for owning a system. Why would it even mater to you?

Well I re-bought a PS2 about a month and a half ago for the main purpose of playing MLB. I do own a couple other PS2 games but I wouldn't have a PS2 if it wern't for MLB. I'm not saying MLB is a system seller, I'm saying it was for me. MLB was the best baseball game last year IMO. I'm , more than anything, looking forward to the career mode.

MLB 2005 (and the future release of Hot Shots Fore) is the reason I bought my PS2 last year. I already owned an XBOX and a GameCube, so this gave me a reason to own all three. I'm glad I did it because this has been the game I've been looking forward to since last year. I can't WAIT until Wednesday.

Besides, is it really any different than buying an XBOX just to play Halo? Some people don't care for that type of game, and may think it's a stupid reason to own a system as well. I don't care for the FF series, but that's the main reason many people love the Sony systems. I'm not going to sit here and call them pathetic for letting that persuade their choice though. Heck, I don't care if they buy a console just because it looks pretty sitting next to their TV. Why judge someone for what makes them happy? SURELY you have a better way to waste your time than that...

Find where I called it a bad game. I said I didn't care much for MLB05. I didn't call it bad. It just wasn't what I wanted. And here's a newsflash, neither was MVP04 and ESPN. Unlike some of you, I don't have an agenda outside of wanting to play the best baseball game(s). Sheesh.

Well then that's disheartening to me since I thought last years game, while definitely an improvement over the games 989 had been putting out, paled against the others. I'll reserve final judgement until I play it, much like I've done with MVP (winner) and MLB 2K5(loser, going back to the store as a trade in for something else).

There ya go. Let's see paled in comparison to what? MVP's lefty bug. Or ESPN and all it's bugs and freeze up's? Those were all game killers to me. So "Paled against the others" equals bad. That comment really makes me wonder if you even played the game last year. Besides ASB,989 had the best stadiums and fluid gameplay of them all last year. Even with it's flaws the game played baseball well.

Enjoy your MVP. Just remember there is a forum for that game, let the fans of this game enjoy ours.

And no, saying something pales in comparison to something else doesn't equate to saying it's bad. It's just inferior. This isn't even a matter of semantics. It's a matter of you not knowing what "pales" means.
