BKRich, that's not true. DMB has a projection disk that contains every player, including minor leaguers, for the upcoming season. It contains all players with their stats projected to the current year based on their past three seasons, adjusted for age, jump in levels (minors to majors), etc. I always play the current season with the projection disk and there are many more players than you'd get in a videogame.

When I first thought about the concept of a text based game, I thought like you that it would be dreary. But once you play the upcoming season, you get so immersed in the realism that you don't miss the graphics. Maybe it doesn't suit your taste, but I like the fact that pitcher fatigue is tracked over 5 days and based on number of pitches. I like the realism and I think that's the perfect game, graphics aside. Besides, after a while, graphics get dull until next year's game. I'll take the realism.

Yawn.......must not have played it much. I've been in a DMB league for a number of years and see glitches and AI goofs like any other game.

I've come to find out that these "dumb trades" occur in real life as well. So, to say that there shouldn't be any dumb trades isn't the right thing to say. I guess you could say something like there shouldn't be a numerous amount of "dumb trades."

To each his own. I know for a fact there are not the number of glitches you refer to. If there were, you'd read about it in the DMB forums. No complaints about gameplay, only about adding features to the game. I'm not trying to convince anyone. Just wanted to share my thoughts if someone is a hardcore baseball fan and is searching for the best baseball. If eyecandy's your thing, it's not for everyone.

Well, just because they aren't posted on their forum means zip. I don't visit their forums and it is too much of a hassle to wait for DMB to fix things......we just make do with the glitches. Hey, it is a decent game BUT certainly not the holy grail as some would make it out to be.

Never tried Diamond Mine but I am a big fan of OOTP. I find myself disappointed each year with graphics-based games, they just do not have the roster management/GM kind of stuff that OOTP has. I just could not get into MLB2006. Perhaps the next gen console games will do a better job at making a really good (close to) flawless game of baseball (which imo is the hardest sport to turn into a realistic video game). If other people are happy (and I know lots are) with the current video baseball games, that's cool, I just wasn't into MLB 2006, and don't feel like shelling out more money to try another one.

Seinfeld Season 4 .. out on DVD May 17!
