Wow, what a pleasant surprise. I wonder just how much they fixed for this game. Man, they should release it in September!

this would be cool if true.. the last time a company released 2 of the same sport titles in the same year was EA- with the "Road to the World Cup" & "World Cup" a few years ago

I fail to see how this is a good thing. This is basically the same thing released earlier this year, only with some minor updates and a more expensive price tag.

Could this not have been done with an online roster update and a patch?

If it was $49.99 I'd agree with you, but for $24.95 I will buy it if....

          1) It's just not a roster update
          2) They fixed a few bugs, e.g., the passed ball, not a bug, but a better fielding camera, AI bunting in timed batting. I'd be happy with those.

I'd buy this for winter ball for sure. This is the baseball addict in my speaking and not necessarily the opinion of the real me.

Also, they need to allow us to load all of any files that are for MLB 2K5...

Re: Check out this listing at EBgames, what is this?

I'm really friggen excited about this. I tried like hell to like 2K5 this year and save it but it was a lost cause eventually.

I will prolly buy this regardless (even if it's only a roster update w. some bug fixes) since baseball games are my favorite console games.

I'm really looking forward to more information to come on this. Strange how the MVP team will also be making an annoucnement this week. We could be having a very pleasent October for...... baseball videogames!!!

Man, I am really fired up about this news. I, unlike alot of people, am still playing this game on a daily basis(bugs and all). One of the bugs I hope they fix is the Minors engine. I hope they work it out that when you send a player he actually accumulates stats, sounds like a minor detail, but it would be pretty cool to develop players in the minors.

Another cool thing to add in to this would be 40-man rosters.

I don't even play the PS2 version I have but would definitely be into getting this one if it does have most, if not all those bugs fixed. I gave up on trying it out cause it didn't look right. I played it a couple of times and it just didn't feel like the exact game to try and come on board with. Maybe this is the second chance around. Hoenstly, I'm getting it cause it's a great buy, might have everything that it already had in teh previous version, and will probably have some interesting things in their additions. Keeping an eye out....

I wonder if the commentary and presentation overlays will be different since they no longer have the ESPN license.

The date has been moved back to October 10th.

Hmm... Pratt75 has a big point here. I wonder if this is their early test on next year's game now. Since it's a World Series thing, there's a good chance they're testing with Fox early.

I don't think that the license agreement goes into effect until '06.

2ksports was probablly going to get rid of teh license but they didnt have enuff time thats why they changes the name to major league baseball 2k5
I think this will be a sorta preview of features and presentation of Mlb 2k6

Well, since Kush has now screwed up franchise/season play for two games in a row, maybe they've fixed the bugs and decided that they'll release another BB game on the heels of the NHL game a month apart.....but also in keeping with all the hype surrounding the WS, when sports gamers can't get enough to fill their appetite. But if so, they need to be on their games with the fixes or they could alienate a big sub-group of people toward their product(s).

it would be great if they did that every year , it would also makes sense because people who dont buy the game in the begining of the year might buy it after the playoffs
