Thanks for the info, I decided that I am going to go check it out (I just talked one of my buddies into driving into the city...tough to park, but much quicker). Also, I read in your post in the 2ksports forums that you said that the commentary is the same in WSE so that's cool. I will only buy this game if I read that all of the bugs are fixed, since I loved the original version but I couldn't stand all the glitches (the roster bug made me mental...I hope this is all better now). I will probably wait to buy the 360 until spring when the baseball games come out (I love video games, but baseball video games are my main interest).

Well, the thing is Joe it was never going to be anything more than an update with (hopefully) some glitch fixes. You obviously didn’t have time to see what glitches were maybe fixed, so there’s still hope there. But I can’t see getting disappointed with the rest of the game and over the other new features – none of which impressed me anyway when I first read about them weeks ago.

Anyway, I bought MVP 05 (finally) this weekend because I found it for under $20. And boy, that was an eye-opener.

The gameplay is quite solid, but HOLY CRAP it’s an ugly game to look at and listen to (just like Madden… EA = extremely weird in that regard). So after 2 minutes I turned off the announcers, and an hour later I quit playing altogether.

Then I popped in MLB 2K5. HOLY CRAP has that game got some dynamite stuff happening. With my edits and sliders, I have everything I need as far as a great game of baseball goes. MLB 2K5 is a great game in so many ways. Honestly, it’s as much as I need until baseball season next spring (unless they fixed the bunting in the WS edition).

I played a game yesterday and had a great time with it. I was crusin' with a low scoring game through six innings, 2-1, and then all heck broke loose and I lost 9-3. I've been sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting to start another season on something.

I then went back to ASB (with all the fixes Knight and I made) and the updated roster I put out. Man, this game rocks too.

Gotta make a decision this week whether or not to just keep what I have or try out MLB WSE.

Jim, like I said earlier in the week. I think we will find out more about this game here on OS than any other site.

I do agree with the poster above that MVP plays great ball, but it is boring as all hell. I can't stand the commentary. I hope that this game turns out good so than I can pick it up. Both VC and EA have too many flaws in their games which really sucks.

You're exactly right on that my friend. Stay far away. Played it on Friday after making the trip in the pouring rain. What a waste. Same old, although I didn't see a passed ball every inning. Maybe I just got lucky.

Although, it did seem like they had a new camera angle, but it could have just been me. I was pissed they didn't have College Hoops there on Friday. Guy said they'll have it Saturday. Damn.

LOL sorry... maybe I came off a bit harsh, but I have an idea of what joe likes from what we've discussed on the boards...

IMO, there are two other MLB titles out there that are still more enjoyable than from the little I experienced on Friday. The game feels so similar to WSB 2k3, yet so different.

Thanks for the heads up....I think I'll keep my money...as I mentioned in a previous posting, I got the feeling that the 'bells and whistles' they came out with for this edition had more to do with covering up/making people forget/hiding the fact (take your pick) that the game in itself...is basically the same........

No problem. If you already have the game, there's just not enough that seems like it warrants a completely NEW purchase. They fixed the passed ball bug as far as I can tell, and added some casual gamer "playoff" modes...

Doesn't seem all that different to me... IMO, if these were PC games, you would be paying the price of a new game for what is, in essence, only a patch.

Just my take...

For me, it should be worth it with fixed bugs, playoff modes, World Series, and classic teams.

Instead of putting out these quick hits, they should be spending the time ripping this baby apart and rebuilding it. This game seems to be going backwards and picking up steam fast. I hope they turn it around because I would like to be playing three titles next year!
