    Interesting stuff:

-I like the collision detection between players

    -catchers calling the game.

-looks like they are using the right stick for hitting also!

-pressure sensitive throws(nothing new but an improvement for this game)

-new graphics? Where the hell are they? I do not know why they started off with those three crappy pictures.

I like some of the stuff I read there, especially the catcher calling the game. I so up on this game last year before it was released, but it dissapointed me greatly. I am really hoping that we can see a great 2K baseball game and it seems like they are on the right track.

I'm not gonna lie, that got me pretty excited, although new features always make me a little nervous too...

One thing I really really hope they have is being able to throw to another fielder on the run. Ex: pitching throwing to the first baseman AS HE'S RUNNING towards first base, to get out the runner. MVP finally added this last year, and MLB has had it for a couple...

I'm not sure if pulling back and just letting go for the swing sounds quite as cool as pulling back and pushing forward, but either way I still like it. They did well with the shot stick, so for now, I'll trust them...

Oh, and I liked this part:

IGN Sports: Are there any feature differences between current and next gen? Is next gen just a port with better graphics like NBA 2K or will it add a new mode like NHL?

Chien Yu: It will be a combination of both - the Xbox 360 version will look extraordinarily better and there will be some unique features exclusive to the Xbox 360 version.

IGN Sports: What's the most impressive aspect about the next gen game?

Chien Yu: Right now, the most impressive thing we're working on is the atmosphere. It's the small details that really matter in baseball; one good example is when a fielder goes into the foul seats to make a catch, the crowd will react to the player realistically. Stay tuned— more details to come.

I like the catcher calling the game also. I wonder how that works if u throw a pitch he didnt call for? Does it make the pitch less effective or could he possibly miss the ball? I also wonder if you can shrug off what he is calling and he picks something else?

Sounds good for the most part.

I actually don't like the catcher calling the game. I hope there's an option to turn that off. I like to call my own pitches and setup hitters in the way that I think will best get them out. Then again, I pitched throughout high school and college so it's in my blood.

If done really well where the catcher actually calls for some intelligent pitches in certain situations then I think it could be a benefit. Especially for people that play the game who really do not know how to do a pitch sequence.

On the other hand I could also see it being a complete disaster and very repetitious.

The features sounds like a copycat of EA's NCAA, obviously someone at 2k is paying a close attention to EA and doing what they do, I didn't hear anything new and deep like the dynasty of NCAA or the create player/bpark stuff.

The screen shots are fine but don't look realistic, the anatomy of the player is cartoony and feet are tiny.?
                    Not too impressed so far.

Yeah it's really dependent on how they implement it. We'll see. I might as well not worry about it because I know I'm going to get this game when it comes out.

You gotta love IGN... Or do you?

This really just further proves my hypothesis that IGN is EA's bitch.

The new collission detection system sounds great. I wonder if they'll call fielder's interference on plays where it would apply? Such as: guy on 1B, grounder to your 2B, you go to field the ball and plow into the runner going to 2B knocking the runner over.

One thing that doesn't make sense is that he said all of their movement animations are new this year. In the one screenshot (Blzer also posted this a few days ago) you can clearly see the odd swing animation that has plagued this series for years (the White Sox hitters heel doesn't pivot and arms don't appear to roll over).

Or maybe that's just the new Willie McGee animation.

I don't really see how that proves they're EA's bitch. I'm glad he asked it, because the players DID throw like girls last year. They had that one animation where the would throw from their ear, it looked downright horrible. I'll be very happy if they fixed that...
