    Re: Which one to get?

That was to correct problems with my team (P's getting 2 wins after pitching 1 game) I also think any CPU stat-glitch problems might be related to lineup malfunctions so to speak, which is why I control all teams and why I continually check to make sure all CPU rosters and lineups are in order (all players in their correct positions, etc.)

WSE is better? From what I read everyone said it was the exact same game with newer rosters. Is this true? Are the bugs fixed (passed ball, 1b/3b now charge in)? I assume if you were playing a season in 2k5 its gonna load and save just fine in WSE?

No and no. Only thing fixed was the passed ball problem, which wasn't a problem in MLB 2K5 after the slider fix. And MLB 2K5 rosters can't be loaded into WSE... for some outrageously stupid reason.

On the other hand, they included the option to remove the strike zone (good thing). Not to mention WSE included an “updated” roster that was only two months old at the time the game was released, and missing many key players…

In my mind, that makes it a better game.

It makes it a no-brainer for someone purchasing either game for the first time -- go with WSE. But given the rosters require hours of editing just to get the game to play decently, newer rosters really mean very little -- especially to someone who already has the MLB 2K5.

Well my first exposure to 2k baseball in a long time hasn't been a good one. I got a bad copy of the game from ebgames.com, and no local EB's have another used copy, but they said that they would trade it out for the older 2k5. Is it worth it is my question? I can at least download updated rosters with my AR (none are available that I can find for the WSE). How hard is it to fix the passed ball stuff, and what else needs to be fixed right off the bat for the first one as I may go get it and not wait on the WSE.

Except he's correct. WSE had semi-updated rosters and the no-strike zone option MLB 2K5 didn’t have, so in that regard it’s “the better game”. But the negatives of both games outweigh the positives at this point – being so close to the release of the upcoming year’s baseball games – that purchasing either makes little sense IMO.

I got the MLB2k5 non WSE. What do I change slider wise to get rid of the passed ball stuff?

                      Set Error slider to 50.

What made you decide to get the regular edition?

I got a bad disc from ebgames.com and they didn't have anymore in stock either online or in any of the local stores and I refuse to pay 25 bucks for it. I stopped by a local blockbuster and they had the old one for 7.99-25 percent, so it was less than the cost of a rental so it worked out fine, plus I can at least get some updated rosters to play around with since there were none out yet for the WSE. Thanks for the help fellas, it's very much appreciated.

I got a good set from the rosters forum here. I like the game all right, it's just not MVP, but I'm sure the 360 version will look much much better. This one does look better than the other Sega/Take 2 games. Thanks for all the help guys and thanks for the offer jmc. I just didn't wanna wait for the week turnaround to get the WSE back from EB.
