For instance, my previous example with the CPU not scouting and exploiting weaknesses. I also addressed earlier how it would not be so great if the players' stats and scouting reports did not progress game-by-game, or year-by-year.
Those are ways that could make this feature no-assed.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Originally posted by GoldenstWarriorI think right now what people are doing , is way to much assuming based on the previous game, obviously i cant sit here and map out how the joint works. All i can say is alot of work went in to it, and i cant hoenstly see people being dissapointed.
I'll guarantee you that both MLB games will be given equal and fair shots... but I only keep one (damn parents). If I don't think that either are improved enough for the $40.00, I'll just stick with MLB 2K5 and MVP 06 NCAA Baseball. That simple.
I think that I went a little too overboard when I was talking about my Player Tendencies and comparing it to these... I think it's easier to contrast. I talked more about making results of balls put in play (or not) more realistic like the actual players do. For instance, pulling the ball vs hitting it opposite field, striking out players with the curveball more than the changeup, hitting with extreme power more than weaker bloops, or a ground ball pitcher vs a fly ball pitcher. This Inside Edge thing is more of "What do they do more often than what they don't in terms of what they control?"Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Originally posted by BlzerThat's how I'm trying to feel right now. I feel that this game has way more pluses than minuses so far (however, a bug isn't noticed until the game is in our hands), but it looks like most people just shun away from the game from the start. Either because: A) they're basing this game off of MLB 2K5's reputation (which by the way got 45% of the vote on IGN), or B) they're biased and fanboys toward another company or game.

The inside edge thing in simplir terms is the scouting report on each player.
As far as fanboyism and stuff.. ill say this... It happens ya know, nothing we can do about it. except ignore it, I dont get paid more for you buying the game, so i dont care what you do with the money, the only thing i dont liek that people do on here, is make assumptions without trying it first, and saying it will suck, or will be terrible (or even worse, implying that certain people arent doing thier jobs).
Thats when i think people on here go to far.
Like ive said, its a wonderful feature, by no means is it a "gimmick", and i honestly do think people will enjoy it.#SimnationComment

Re: Inside Edge....Sim heaven??
Based on last year’s mess of a game, there’s a good chance the new features in MLB 2K6 will either not work properly, or will be poorly programmed and/or implemented. That’s simply the reality, based on history. And if and when that happens, 99% of the people posting here will vanish 2 weeks after the game comes out and will move on to Splinter Cell or some other game, just like last year. And when that happens, Blzer and bigjoe and I and a couple of others will be the only 5 people left in North America trying to make this @#$%& game work via massive editing and tweaks, just like last year.
With the exception of 1-2 posts I’ve read where some tool simply writes “That game sucks: play MVP”, there haven’t been any posts here that I’d call “fanboy” posts. Last year’s game was pretty pathetic, and any skepticism and negativity here is entirely 2K’s fault.

Re: Inside Edge....Sim heaven??
my main reason for holding out any hope for this game stems from the fact that vc is a way more involved than before, having jeter do his mo-cap thing (the ign hands on story)at vc's building tells me that, maybe they want this game to succeed, or at least be playableComment

I understand the skeptiscm, and TRUST ME, I am the SAME way. (really i am LOL)
Most people dont understand this but the best way to describe my personality (as far as games go) is, Im exactly like everyone on here. In fact it almost got me fired a few times. (LOL)
But honestly, just because one game was sub par, does not mean the rest of the series will be subpar, there is no percentage that dictates that either. Look at the transition nba 2k4 took to nba 2k5. It was a drastic drastic change, for the better. YS more work needs to and will be put into NBA and DEFINATLY mad work needs to be put in to MLB.
But like i said before, dont , DONT, assume the game will be bad, or broken. because last years was, Theres ALOT of people working there asses off on every game to try to please alot of people. I wish i could go in to detail about the process, because there are sooo many things people dont understand, and i didnt understand at first either, but ill save that for another convo.#SimnationComment

Meh...if EA gets alot of slack for its Madden series, the MLB series deserves the same. They brought this upon themsevles by releasing 3 POS games in 2 years. The skeptisism is warranted.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

The problem here is that the transition between MLB 2k4 and MLB 2k5 was only presentation. In fact, the gameplay became worse in MLB 2k5. They tried too much to overhaul the entire thing when people was just asking for a face lift from the horrendous graphics in MLB 2K4.Comment

I just want a good baseball game this year since that's my sport of choice. We'll see if 2K can deliver this year. Let's just say that I haven't been too happy with my baseball gaming choices since 3DO went under. Now that 2K is the only developer for the Xbox/360, the bullseye is on their back.Comment
