There hasn't been, so it would suprising if they suddenly included it.

I used to hate how there was no auto fielding especially when I played 2K4 but I caught on and got used to it with 2K5. It's not a huge deal.

I like it where they field the ball and you just make all the throws. Always liked it that way.

Catcatch, That's how I like it also. There should at least be an option.

Hey, some of us are a little controller challenged afterall.

I preferred auto-fielding when I played the Hardball series years ago. Then when the only real option was console baseball, I was forced into learning to appreciate the joy of doing all the fielding myself. Now I'd never go back to auto-fielding.

why would you just want ot make the throws? Isn't the reason you get the game so can play the game?

                TV is for watching, imo...

I prefer auto-fielding, just because a little screw up in moving your fielder - like you misjudge a ball - willl cause an inside the park HR. If the CPU takes care of the fielding, you can still make a throwing mistake, but I can live with that.

i would like to see assisted fielding too or better camera angles.in espn2k4 it seemed that fielding was easier because of the camera angle.

But that is part of the game and it happens in real life... If you misjude it, then you miscalulated. It adds another layer of realism imo

Every gamer has a level of expertise. I saw my friends kid zipping through HALO2 and it was sort of amazing. But, the kid plays these games a LOT. The fielding is probably the hardest part for those who don't play for hours on end, so why NOT have the AI do the fielding? Isn't that a little more realistic than letting balls that are normally fielded get by you just because you aren't good with the controller?

I don't see why you're questioning this. If you're good with the controller, great for you. Not everyone is.

Re: is there gonna be auto fielding this year?

I can field fine, its just that all baseball games do 2 things wrong since I have been playing baseball games.

One, the game does not realistically portray the differences between a good fielder and a bad one. So if I am really good at fielding then it doesn't matter if I have mattingly or cecil fielder at first they all play the same. When you have the ai field they will at least make a mistake due to their ratings which then makes it more realistic.

Two, almost every game I have played does a horrible job of giving you notice of who you are controlling at the crack of the bat. Especially when you have the ball placed between 2 fielders. So you will have stupid instances where you will think you should be in control of one fielder but for some odd reason they give you conrtol of another. So your first instinct is ok ball hit to shortstop but the damn! ai gives you control of the thirdbaseman, so you first move left but then you realize its the thirdbaseman and not the shortstop so you switch and then have to try to get the ball with the shortstop and by that time when you switch to your shortstop he has already stopped or gave up on the play or better yet went to cover second when no one is on the freaking! bases! That I can not tell you drives me up the wall!

Until those 2 stupid issues are fixed or resolved in some way I find auto fielding to be the better choice.

It has nothing to do with being good with a controller, it has to do with playing the game or watching the game... it seems like a no brainier to me... I would want to do as much as possible... Why someone wouldn't is beyond me...

                              Erratic,

It's because they aren't as skilled. It's really pretty simple actually.

                              and as catch lays out....
