I honestly think we have different games...
You've got to be kidding. Camera angles were a major concern for most of the people who posted here. Most of the people who played this game thought the camera angles were awful. I'm happy for you though. Glad you're really good with the game.Comment

Honestly I switch fine, unless I am beat already, because upon the switch you slow down slightly... If your db's are in position then it isn't as much as a problem... Honestly how many DB's once they are beat make a play? 2 - 4%? Also I noted that DB's have trouble making a play on the run, so I try to put them into the position where I think the WR will end up... Notice Defenses in the NFL aren’t good because they have excellent DB's, they are good because they pressure the QB and stop the run, leading to turnovers...Comment

I never changed the camera once in the game
I'm talking about the baseball game. You know, the one where you can put your outfielder right under a fly ball and the ball mysteriously falls several feet behind him?Comment

Man, I don't know what to tell you, but that WAS a problem in this game with that. Read back on some of the posts.
Listen, you're never going to accept any of this. So no use to talk about it anymore. No, we weren't playing different games.
I never changed the camera in baseball And if I'm not mistaken you couldn't change the camera angle in this game.Comment

Re: is there gonna be auto fielding this year?
One more time. There was a flaw in this as you could stand there all you wanted and the ball would wind up a few feet over your head. If it's just me and the rest of the gamers then something is amiss, or we're just not as good as you. You're making my point for me. Everybody else is wrong, you are right. Why? Because it never happened to you.Comment

I played on default legend/all-star and haven't experienced it... I noted the errors I experienced earlier in the thread...Comment

Re: is there gonna be auto fielding this year?
To put an end to this debate: baseball games should have auto-fielding, auto-throwing and full manage mode options. The more choices, the merrier. The older CPU baseball games had these options. Console games tend to cut corners here, and probably because they're for the most part geared toward the younger crowd (think "Slam Zone" and "the Crib) who aren't yet reflex-challenged.
As for the 2K5 fielding discussion: with fielding lock off, the ball can easily -- and often does -- drop behind the fielder as he's standing there ready to catch it. I actually play with fielding lock off, as it's a great challenge.
The 3-4 dozen games I played with it on, I never had that problem. Fielders routinely caught fly balls, no problem. Regardless, there is an issue in the game with CPU fielders lining up under a foul or fly ball, only to have it drop behind them. That I've seen many times.
Also, I recently discovered with 2K5 that switching 'select fielder' from auto to manual, improves your chances that the correct infielder will be highlighted when the ball is first put in play. It sounds weird perhaps, but it does seem to be the case. Anyone who is having a problem here should give this a try.Last edited by baa7; 02-06-2006, 02:25 AM.Comment

Moving on, people say the more the merrier, yet are quick to bash a game when they add something like first person mode or whatever, calling it a waste of time that could have been spent tweaking the gameplay. I don't think that is the case, but people can't have it both ways...Last edited by Erratic; 02-06-2006, 08:22 AM.Comment

Re: is there gonna be auto fielding this year?
Originally posted by catcatch22I like what all star baseball tried to do with the fielding controls was alot more realistic. I wish all the other games took that approach. Sort of like the first person baseball idea they flirted with in 2k4. If they bring that back for fielding I might use it.
Thought so.Comment
