i dont know but i almost threw up watching this mess... the game looks like they just updated the year on the cover... same crappy animations and crappy player models... its a slow game with no flair to it... mvp 03 is better then this garbage.... Good thing mvp05 can be modded cuz if not for that then there is no need for baseball game this year... the ps2 game looks much better then this... i hope that the xbox 360 version irons our the animations and improves the player models....

Not bad. I'm happy bat sounds are better for the most part, and defensive movement looked much better (I also like how they react to errors, now). For the most part, it's looking more or less near the same game with all of the new iterations. I surely couldn't let that up.

I still am sort of confused on pitching, though. He tried to nail Giambi, and it ended up going on the outside. I guess this week's BLT will clear pitching up a little more, though.


IMO, they should up the pitch speeds for these POTD's. I want to see what it's like then.

Me, I'm impressed with the three videos. Looks like they went out of their way to show that certain things from last year's game were fixed: fielder's recovering quicker from missed grounders/errors; the underhanded throws appear to be fixed; and the pitcher now runs to cover first at the correct speed. Definitely some new animations -- SS throw to first; 1B throw to home. And to think the game is going to look much better on the 360. I'm happy, and I'm officially saving my bucks for a 360 come April.

Looks like the exact same game except for a few changes, like no ESPN. It doesn't look bad, but its the exact same game. I guess the Inside Edge is really the only noticable improvement.

Bat noise sounds the same. Swing animations look the exact the same. How can they not get that right???????????? Every time a batter makes contact his head turns and looks down toward the ground. It doesn't look anything close to being natural. Didn't any of these developers ever play baseball or set foot into a batting cage?

It's completely obvious how the development time was broken up this year. 75% inside edge, 20% swing stick, 5% animations. A complete joke.

I guess I'll be playing MVP 05 with updated rosters. After all that's really all VC did this year. Unless you want to count the swing stick and inside edge.

I'm acutally tempted to buy a PS2 just so I can play MLB the Show.

As much as I want it, I'm going to have to say no. You'll see in one of the videos where the second baseman recovers the ball, and starts sprinting toward the bag before throwing it. In previous years, that's a sign of the player not reaching the base yet, so your fielder will progress toward that bag until the other fielder is on it. He didn't lead the throw in the video... so I'm going to have to say no.

Did you notice the temp at Fenway to begin the game? 20F, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I saw a few things that were better, but the animations are really stiff, stiff, stiff.

Yes, I saw the passed ball and yikes!

I dunno, need to see more.

Like Arod going the other way on that fastball.

Unfortunately his swing looks more like he should have pulled the ball instead of a swing that should of showed him going with the ball on a pitch heading towards the outer half of the zone. Arod has a very distinctive swing when he goes yard to the opposite field.
