Hmmm. Why is that? It's interesting because I love the ASB series. It's the only sports game that could actually keep me up for hours when I used to play it. I just hated the limitations they put on customizing the game.

But please elaborate more if you can. I would like to know

I am going to disagree with this statement. I think the two are completely different

I hope not, in ASB the ball would sometimes not even be close to the fielder but they would magically suck it up which I thought was very silly.

Maybe that is why I don't like it much. I hated that game.

Fielding was one of the weaker points of ASB, so I am guessing this is not a good thing.

When it comes to atmposphere and detail however, ASB was the king. EA and 2K still aren't close to what the fellas at Acclaim were doing 4 years ago. Working scoreboards with real-time out of town scores that update. Fans adding a "K" sign for every strikeout by the home teams starter, brown ivy in Wrigley in April that turns green in the summer....etc.

For anyone that has never played the series, I recommend shelling out $2 to pickup a used copy on a rainy day. The game is far from perfect, and you may not like it, but you will see some very cool stuff and it will give new perspective on what can be done in a video baseball game.

I can actually somewhat agree with this. But only in the sense of timing and "loading" throws. It fields much better than ASB though. I truly miss ASB, even with it's flaws.

However I think the atmosphere in 2K6 is outstanding. It does have a few issues with commentary, but they are MINOR.

Question for ya Jistic... You mention being able to load throws, but I've heard a few complaints with the "A" button (Xbox) also being used for diving while fielding. Does this then translate to not being able to load your throw to home?

                Thanks in advance.

Really? I use the right thumbstick to dive. I didn't even know you could use A to dive?

Wow the ivory turns colors too!? I stll have ASB for x-box but no longer have my x-box only 360 now. I used to do the stadium tours just so I could say wow. I did notice fans putting up the K's which was cool. There were things that kept me from ever starting a season though. I hope I'm happy with 2k6 on Tuesday

They do the K's on 2k6 as well when the home starter starts racking them up.

Yah, it's just one of the rumblings I've heard. I'm assuming by your response though that you haven't had any problems loading your throws to home?

Do they put them in the right spot?

As a fan of the now dead All-Star baseball series, I take real offense to the comparison. The only thing these two games have in common is that 2k6 has similar graphics as the ASB N64 era.

amen to that. ASB is STILL the best baseball game to grace the Xbox.
