CPU trades are HORRIBLE!!! Turn them off!

CPU trading with the CPU in this game is probably the worst ever. I am playing with the A's and within the week I was offered Pujols for Frank Thomas, Jason Kendall, and some other made up AA player on my team. I was like WTF that is the stupidest **** ever so I decided to sim a season to see the trades.

Here are only first two trades I saw:

Miguel Cabrera for Byron Gettis, Pinger and Scott Spiezio
Klesko/Hoffman for Conine, Stynes and Benson

Then check out a few of these other huge names traded for weak talent:

Jason Bay, Griffey Jr, Teixera, Mauer, Torii Hunter, Berkman, Dontrelle, Peavy, and Zach Duke.

I would be fine if this happened every once in a while but this is crazy. I know you can just turn off CPU trades but that sucks since I like some trades, not just superstars being traded around like 2 doller hookers.

this is nothing new to the 2k Sports games and as i always do, ill just turn them off.

*For some reason, even with all the negativity, im still excited about picking up the 360 version on tuesday.

I remember this being a problem last year, and especially horrible in NFL 2k5

And... who cares? Just kidding Seems someone always throws a comment like like out on one of these threads, and I just thought I'd be the first this time.

Hey, I'd take that trade in a heartbeat, providing I get Cabrera. But yeah, at some point it starts looking like the typical 2K game scenerio: release the game unfinished, and with glitch after bug after problem. Talk about a company shooting themselves in the foot, over and over and over again.

Yeah, definitely turn them off. If you can pinpoint an exact time when trades start to become rampant, turn them off at that time and let the other deals slide. That's what I had to do with NHL 2k6.

MLB: The Show is no better.

Game one Yankees had Pavano, Arod, Posada, and Matsui on the trading block.

And Mets had Delgado, Pedro and someone else on their block.

Yankees and Seattle were interested in Pedro.

Every 2k game is bad with trades, but i doesnt bother me becuase i think its more fun to see players on different teams.

I remember in nfl 2k5, i was playing a franchise with the skins and ladanian tomlinson and micheal strahan both got traded in the first week

Sorry...this is the wrong thread to perpetuate this......but number one....in a dozen+ franchises that I ran(some to test just trades and player movement) I NEVER saw anyone on the block from DAY ONE. It's usually the first -second week in May that the teams that are way behind put guys on the block.
Secondly....we're talking about trades in this thread...and in The Show....there are very few of the guys on the block actually getting traded CPU to CPU. Most of the time the CPU is looking to CUT payroll when they are out of it ....hence the big names.
Yes you will see the big names.....later in the season....and they hardly get moved. Not even close to being the same thing.

Re: CPU trades are HORRIBLE!!! Turn them off!

Is it really that outlandish considering the Marlins history?

There is a sort of salary cap in the game, maybe they couldn't make payroll?

Didn't Griffey get traded in his prime? How about dozens of other players? Rolen comes to mind. Just gave him away. this happens all the time.

I am enjoying this game a ton right now. It isn't perfect, but it is addicting.

Berkman is getting up in age, and isn't really the hitter he was. Hunter is in the last year of his contract on a team that seems to pinch pennies. Griffey has a pretty huge contract that maybe the Reds would like to rid themselves of.

Not trying to make excuses, but that could be some of the reasoning. Mauer being traded is a definite reach along with Peavy.

I have the PSP version of the game, uses the same code as the Ps2 version .. you want a screenshot of it? Not bashing your "game of choice" (I love the PSP version). The first game of the season and those big names there, ragardless whether they "trade" or not is pretty unrealistic.

I know Marlins do crazy things, but the reason they did all the trading away was to be able to Cabrera and Dontrelle. They are the two building pieces for the future, though of course the game doesn't know this.

Not exactly the same graphics wise, that is about it. The AI, how the game works, etc is the same. There is not mysterious "somgz the PSPz is differentz cause I must defend m3h gamez".

Like I said, I have yet to see any baseball game the past few years have legit trades, etc. The closest one the past few years was MVP. All the rest do some whack stuff.

And who cares about trading block? Huh? It is still a part of the game and real life baseball. Breaks the whole sime feel seeing some silly trades put on the block, especially when it is almost one key player a possition.

Here is some examples 1-2 games in MLB06: The Show for the PSP...

Once again, I like the game, a lot... no need to defend it like I am bashing your baby. The point is, the past few years baseball games have had some quirky CPU type actions.

(you may now carry on "bashing" MLB2K6, sorry for pointing out simular non life like flaws in your fanb... I mean game)
