No big deal... as long as you meet one of the other goals, failing to meet the goal of trading the player gets cancelled out.

It's pretty easy to dump the players the Owner wants you to. The trade logic isn't the greatest (I was the Royals and I traded Scott Elarton for Justin Verlander). Not only did I dump Elarton's salary of 3 mill or so, took back Verlander's of 300 K, and made another 3 or 4 mill for additional funds for getting rid of him.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried.
