I don't know about that Big Joe. From reading post on the official Xbox Forums, reformatting your hard drive in essence repartitions and wipes clean THE ENTIRE HARD DRIVE. You lose everything (game saves, profile, gamertags, demos, videos, XBLA Games) if the information from the Xbox forum is correct.

I haven't tried it myself cause the Xbox forums were saying to make sure to backup anything valuable on your 360 HD before reformatting your HD.

I personally won't re-format my HDD for any game. But, anything on your HDD other than gamesaves can be redownloaded from Live for free since they are associated with your gamertag.

True that's what Big Joe was saying. But I think if you have any XBLA games like Geometry Wars or Hexic which came with my system, I think you 'MIGHT' not sure about that, have to buy it again.

Geometry Wars didn't come with your system, you downloaded it. And you can re-download Hexic if you call MS and get the code. Basically, you won't lose anything but your saves, and you can save those as well if you have the Transfer Kit.

Yeah re: Geometry Wars, that wasn't on my system when I bought it. But it's good to know you can download them by calling MS. I didn't know that.

Yeah, re-formatting might not be a good option. I've had no problems so far. I read some where that re-formatting was almost like doing a De-Frag on your computer. Yet when you re-format your computer, unless back-up you lose all your files, which is what I'm hearing from people. I will call Microsoft @ 9pm EST & try to get more clarity on this for people.

I hope VC really does something quickly about this especially with this MLB Agreement

We'll just got off the phone with Microsoft Tech Support. Re-Formatting should be your last resort. You will lose all game saves when done... Bottom-line is a patch is needed to fix this issue...

                  Sorry guys...

I don't care what MS says... if you have a memory card, you want lose squat and everything can be backed up.

I've reformatted and all is good so far... of course, my tune will change if I start freezing. sure would be nice if we could know what causes the freeze...

                          Regarding the freezzing issue:
I turned on the system and put the game in. I entered a profile when it asked if I wanted to make one. I then went online and downloaded the rosters, went back offline and played one game, no issues. I shut the system off and went to eat dinner. After dinner I turned the system back on and adjusted 4 or 5 sliders and saved those settings. I attempted to play nine straight games and did not make to the 3rd inning in any of those games before it froze. I read some posts on this forum as well as the 2K forum. I went back to the game and deleted my profile and then said no when it asked if I wanted to make one. The next game still froze in the 2nd inning (10 straight after a flawless 1st game).
I do not want to re-format my HD as I have almost 30 hours on my Oblivion campaign. My question is does anyone think that purchasing a memory card, start over with the profile and online roster saves, and save everything to the memory card would solve the freezing issue? I really don't want to buy a memory card but the re-formatting thing is really not an option for me.
Are the people with the core system, no HD, but that have a memory card having these freezing problems?

That (in Oblivion, at least) clears the cache.

It does nothing to prevent the freezes in MLB.

Removing the Hard Drive seems to do the trick.

That is true, but not everybody is willing to shell-out extra dough for a Memory Card. What might be an option for 1, may not be for another..
