well microsoft put out a jersey update,ice update and roster updates for nhl rivals. i dont see why they cant update the uni's!! shouldnt be to hard IMO

ive got to say, graphics are cool and all, shea stadium is still disturbing, and to have the wrong hats with the wrong jersies is text book, i mean, its not like its a new concept, or a new uniform this is old school stuff that the ball was dropped on. i really cant imagine what goes on during these development team meetings, i mean is it a known fact that hey this is where we messed up, or is it like 2 days after release and they are like, how did we miss that? oh well lets go eat..... i mean im by no means a perfectionist or a fanboy of anything, im just curious how they can release a product where i would be embarrased if that was 1 year worth of my hard work.

I would also like to add Josh Beckett is in there comercial wearing the Red Sox's Away jersey and it has "Boston" written on it ugh. I believe they messed up Orioles and Jays too... I guess if your in Yankees division they mess up your uniform...

I can't even play with the Mets' alternate black uniforms because they are so wrong. Not mention the 1986 away uniforms with BLACK helmets. WTF?

People call it picky, and I laugh when the PSP of all systems with The Show has it down to a T! (with even better animations than my poor 360)

The license should have gone to just Sony, they have it perfect.

But right, it is a NEXT GEN GAME, and I am not supposed to complain about horrible animations, magical balls going from glove to throwing hand, non-bendable fingers while throwing (always throwing a palm ball, at least Madden all players fingers bend in their exclusive), no pitcher warming up in bullpens (just feels cheap), players clipped in the only dugout out of every team, and that is Boston's home dugout so they are clipped through the wall, Player models than look horrible, a PS2 game (The Show) looks perfect and that is pre-gen, the list goes on and on.

I really wanted this to be good, All I play is my 360, but today I just went out an boght a slim PS2 and The Show. I need my baseball fix, and I can not be forced to play a franchise with this game for 162 games.

People who say they enjoy it, really, here is some advice, dont play The Show at all ... ever! Trust me!

It is not called picky, it is called having an exclusive, touting your thebest ever (lame marketing) and still dropping the ball on 90% of the stuff in the game. When a previous gen PS2 game (The Show) for $39 just kicked your arse up and down the baseball world.

360, so uber powerful, yet hickups and stuttering all over the place, and animations that look horrible. Annoying as a 360 owner seeing games like this pass the QA.

People are right when they said the new additions feel like a gimmik. They feel there just to distract you from the lack of polish everywhere else.

I will say it again, this game is awesome.

Havn't had this much fun playing baseball in years!

Bad logic. It's not being picky to expect a "next gen" game to BE next gen.

Moreover, regarding sports games, I don't understand people who label other gamers "complainers" when they point out obvious flaws that should have been corrected, especially ones that deal with graphical details that linger for years. Any developer of sports video games should know that sports fans are fanatical, and the small details matter to many of the consumers out there.

We should ALL expect more from 2K, EA, from any sports developer. They haven't been stepping up the past few years; instead, they seem content to quote sales figures and make huge, exaggerated claims about their "latest installment". (If the word "revolutionary" is used one more time I'm going to puke.) I traded in Oblivion to help defray the cost for this game (I don't have the time for such a massive RPG), but after playing a few games I thought, "If all sports games were developed with the attention to detail and thoroughness that Oblivion exhibits, we'd all be in heaven." Sports developers, in my untechnical know-nothing-about-game-development opinion, are taking shortcuts and being unforgivably lazy about their games. EA and 2K alike.

My 2 cents: if sports games are going to advance to the next plateau, it's all these "little things" that will matter the most. Gameplay advances will always be there (Playmaker in Madden, Hit Stick in MVP/MLB, etc.), but it's all about immersion from this point forward.

A fair point but they have to have something to market.. 'now with better gameplay and bugs fixed!' doesn't sell units.

To fix all the little things and do the big advances, game companies would need to do titles every two years instead of every year.. which is a kind of good idea but it would be rare that someone would except that sales hit (far fewer sales in a year for a franchise). Unless I missed something, they skipped a year to make The Show and it.. shows.. (ugh) but that's the exception not the rule..

Hey, Inside Edge is incredible and TRULY revolutionary. Businesses run on cycles, so if it would take 2-3 years to make "big" advances, these cycles should be in constant motion so that every year there's a new "big advance" in the franchise. There should be NO offseason in sports game development. This isn't really a difficult issue from a business standpoint. If companies invested the resources and time to make this happen, it WOULD happen. Sports developers are stuck in the rut of adding one new "feature" each year to the same damn game. It's the apogee of laziness.
