    Inside Edge is great

I normally don't ever post, but this issue with inside edge is absurd. Inside Edge is a great little toll to bad that the developer dicided that it know more about scouting than professionals; for example if you look at a random pitcher for example Josh Beckett inside edge tells you he should throw a 4 seam fastball between 93-95 MPH, but in the game Josh throws between 97 and 101 MPH.
This not only applies to him but like a said any random pitcher that you choose,
sometime inside edge tells you a picther should have a slider but he does not.
This post is not a knock on IE, as it is quite accurate compare to the fictional ratings the developers choose to use. I am now having fun know reediting all the players using inside edge as a guide.

    Ha-ha! Good point.

Me, I shut off all IE stuff. I find the flashing red zone boxes annoying. And hitting is so easy already in this game, the last thing I need to know is where pitcher's goiog to locate his pitches. Maybe after I've played a 100 games, I'll look at what it's about.

I don't use inside edge either the problem that I have with the game is that they already have a tool to use to rate the players, but instead they choose to ignore accurate scouting and rate players using fictional information. If they actually used inside edge they could of made the game realistic instead the game is highly inaccurate in player rating. When I bought the game i thought it was a baseball simulation instead it is strickly and arcady game with inaccurate L/R Splits for batter and Inaccurate pitching selection for pitchers.

Absolutely correct. And it was a huge problem with 2K5 as well. And not just that: it's the cause of the arcady game play. The ratings are too juiced. I came up with a different ratings system for players, if you're ever intereted in editing batter ratings and making the hitting more sim.

Yes, that did tend to be a problem last year but with the, promoting IE with such vigor a thought it was going to be a new era but i was wrong. I think the problem that the game has this is year that was not a problem last year it is the
total amount of HR by power hitters such as David ortiz, Albert Pujos and such I simulated 10 season and using the default ratings it was a mess.

Yeah, I shouldn't jump to conclusions because I've only had the game 2 days. But I'm seeing too many HR's vs other types of hits. Don't know if it's a slider issue, but I've got my Power pretty low -- lower than last year by quite a bit.

I haven't personally hit many homeruns as im still trying to get use to the swing stick and the cpu hasn't hit that many against me. Like you i haven't actually played that many games but soon we will see if it is a problem like last year.

Are you saying not enough HR's by those guys?

Inside Edge is good IMO, but could be made a bit better.

I like the idea of the red boxes showing you where the ball may wind up, but it does get a bit annoying and would be nice if they gave you the option to turn them off. It takes some of the excitement out of it.

If you turn Inside Edge off in franchise mode, can you still get scouting reports on players? Their tendencies and stuff? I guess you could just purchase all the inside edge stuff for batters only and you wouldn't have to worry abou it.

That's all I'd be interested in -- their spray charts. Didn't know you could just buy batters' reports.

See, I'd prefer a system where any ratings were available by accessing them via pushing on a thumbstick or something. But something where I only have to see them on-screen if I choose to.

Yes. What I did was basically give everybody that had any power a boost when editing them. If you go in and edit everybody that COULD hit above 20 HRS and give them more power, things will go better. I'd HIGHLY recommend doing this...

Correct when you simulate a season the Home run number are very low.

Inside edge is great if what inside edge was reporting reflected the statictis of the player but it does not.

Except the sim engine and game play engine in any video game are two separate things. I kind of figured Kush wouldn't be able to do too much with IE, so I wasn't expecting much. I really think they don't have the creative talent to do much more than very basic programming stuff. They need a programming genius who is also a real baseball person. Programmers wearing a baseball cap in interview vids doesn't qualify.
