Re: demo time?
Perish the thought but.......
What if 2K doesnt offer a demo for the game before it's release ?? I for one will be extremely cautious and concerned about the quality of gameplay if for some reason we dont see a pre-release demo !!!
Not trying to rain on anybody's parade but here's some food for thought.
What I'm thinking is that 2K knows they dropped the ball last year with 2K6 and if the gameplay of this years version is not much improved then they may not want us playing 2K7 beforehand. If it's still majorly flawed in the area of gameplay, a pre-release demo could build some negative hype culminating in low sales.
They have stated that this is a 2-4 year project so it's not out of the realm of possibility.
I forget but did we see a demo last year before the game dropped??Comment

Re: demo time?
Dude just my opinion, chill out !!! The last two versions of 2K baseball has been a major disappointment so they lost my trust. Charging $60 for last year's game at launch was grand larceny !!!
I truly hope that we see a demo and that they have made some great strides in tightening up the gameplay. But until they do something to redeem themselves I'll be highly skeptical. 2K really built up last year's game prior to release and I was one of many who bought their bullsh!t hook line and sinker only to be exponentially pissed off at what they sold me.Last edited by Hoos; 01-31-2007, 02:35 PM.XBL Gamertag: hoos4974

Re: demo time?
4 weeks until release. I'm still standing by my prediction of a demo might be released 1 week before release. Might happen 2 weeks before...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm wrong and it happens sooner because I really want to play some baseball.Comment

Re: demo time?
Not necessarily. I mean yes, you will only get to see three innings of play (with limited options and selections), but it is of the finished game. If you see some weird batting stance that you don't approve of, and pass it off by saying, "Oh, this is just a demo... this should be fixed by the final version," I'd say that's an incorrect statement.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: demo time?
Here's an example: One of the early years of MVP they had a 9 inning video out on IGN. I watched it and saw 2 things that bothered me. First the team that was losing by 1-2 runs and was at bat in the bottom of the 8th with a runner in scoring position and the pitcher came up to hit. Pinch hit, right? Nope, the game let the pitcher hit and then pulled that pitcher in the top of the 9th for a reliever. I mentioned on the forums that this might be an issue, but everyone said it would be fine. The game released and the same problem was in the game. The other issue was the team that was losing didn't bring in their closer in the 9th. I thought that was odd, but maybe the closer had pitched previously and was tired. When the game released, closers weren't often used in tight situations. I hated facing the Yankees and when the 9th came along, not getting to face Rivera.
So while a 3 inning demo would be great, we still won't get a total feel for the game. Just enough to tide some of us over until it releases!Comment

Re: demo time?
Regardless of 2K releases a demo or not (which I hope they do), I just can't see the gameplay not being improved over last years. Brinkman seems like he knows his stuff and has an appreciation for the "game" of baseball rather than just the "aesthetics". It may not be 100% perfect and up to some of us gamers standards, but I just can't see (demo or not) the gameplay being as shallow as it has been.
Just my .02
If they do a demo, I see it being (as others have mentioned) a week or two before Mar 5th.Peace

Also, he said that they try to make a realistic game of baseball. I'll take his word that is all I got right now and I am fine with that.Comment

Re: demo time?
That said last year it was like spending $60 for a demo, buy the game and the damn thing would freeze by about the 3rd inning of every game, 2k6 was awful but I'm really excited for 2k7, looks much improved so barring any big game killing bugs hopefully it'll be a great baseball game.Favorite Teams:
NCAA- University of Illinois Fighting Illini
NFL- Cleveland Browns
MLB- St. Louis Cardinals
NBA- Boston Celtics
NHL- Chicago Blackhawks

Re: demo time?
A demo beforehand would be nice, just to get a feel for how the basic gameplay will be.

I'm VERY excited for this game, especially seeing how beautiful it looks in HD. Hopefully it's been tested and then tested some more.
I played MLB The Show on the ps2 to death last year and this year I'm hoping 2k sports has finally broken through in baseball.
Should be fun playing with the Cardinals and this questionable pitching staff we have this year.Comment
