I'm extremely excited about 2K3 and have been since playing last year's version. This year they seem to have fixed some of last year's problems, and I think a very big addition to the game is the sliders. Now we can tweak it, and I've never heard of a game not benefitting from having sliders. Some games, like NBA 2K3, we're playable IMO because of sliders. The game is the best looking graphics wise, to me. EA looks ok, but its cartoony, I mean all of it's games looks are, and across the board Sega's games are the only ones I think you could walk in a room and for a split second think someone was just watching TV.
I must say I am impressed with ASB's list of features, some of the franchise features are definitely a first, but IMO the game doesn't look very good, graphics wise, AND the biggest thing is if I still have to swing before the ball is out of the pitcher's hand, forget it.
Someone on the board is saying why aren't people hyped about High Heat. Simple, there's nothing to be hyped about. For next gen consoles the game looks like crap, visually, and there isn't a lot of info out there to get you hyped about the game.
I can't say this enough, but YES graphics are important. You don't pay $200 for a system and not want it's games to look and sound good. If graphics don't matter, let's go back to tecmo baseball on nintendo.
Until HH can catch up in that area at least, there won't be much hype. Others are looking to reach HH's realism, but in many other areas HH has a long way to go to catch those other games.
Anyway, my "preseason", spring training if you will, award for baseball game of the year is going to WSB 2K3.

In the end, we'll see who turns out to be the best when we have a chance to play the games, and I think it's great we seem to have many different games to choose from to get our respective baseball fixes.
