I probably will, unless the demo blows me away.

I see where you are coming from, Country. I pretty much feel that any game I put $60.00 down on should play at a high level. Now, when you factor in the licensing 2K got for the MLB, and the fact that they are in their 2nd season on the 360, yes, this game should play a great game of baseball.

I'll tell you, I don't like this "Brinkman has a 3 year plan, so it's going to take time" rhetoric. While it's great that he's working on things and making the game better, we deserve a very playable game with the least amount of glitches possible. I think we'll see that. They have said time and again that their focus was to polish off the gameplay and not add unnecessary things.

I think the game will be a great title.

The same reasons Madden comes out in early August, the NBA and Hockey in early September. Sales. And not only that, most people with next gen systems can now just go out and download the latest rosters, so having the most current rosters is not that big of an issue to the companies now.

I hope its a great title. I just hope that they didn't hurry it out the door just so its the first game on the shelf.

What was the worst game last year? This one. It may fall into the category of worst of all times. I think Brinkman's "3 years" is sort of a hint. With all the problems this game had last year, and it is known by everyone who posts here, there is no excuse to go out and buy it on the first day and then start complaining about it. If you feel you can't get objective thoughts on the game from some of the gamers here, and you buy it anyways and don't like it..................I would think by the end of the release day there are more than enough objective posters around here to hold off buying it until at least later in the day.

I agree with you about the title, don't know about "great", but I'm only looking for "good" at this time.

From what I understand, the game has been done for a good while. I don't think they'd rush it out just to get a week headstart.

I'm sure the game will be much better than last year but I still suspect there will be some lingering gameplay issues. Unless the demo just blows me away I doubt I'll buy it right away. Like I said, I probably won't play it much anyway until the rosters are updated after opening day so that will give me plenty of time to read lots of reviews and hands-on impressions.

I can be pretty weak-willed when I see a game tempting me from the store shelves, though. Don't be too surprised to see me posting my impressions on the day it's released, LOL.

I thought 2K6 played well...in Exhibition mode. My only problem with the game last year was the AI management of the Lineups and Pitching rotations during my franchise. If the AI management has been fixed, I will be a happy camper.

I didn't get a chance to play this game online, but IMO, if you play against people who play like you do, you can have a great time playing any game online (even...dare I say it...Madden).

                      Two points:

                      1. Developers, especially in the sports genre, are always trying to get their games on the shelves before their competitors because sales figures show that availability trumps quality. If a game is held back, it's almost never because the developer is taking extra care to make the game better, it's because there are serious "game-killing" bugs that need to be fixed before ship.

                      2. Producers such as Ben do not make the call as to when a game is released.

Re: This game had better be flawless

There is no such thing as a flawless game. But I know what the OP means. The game just needs to play right. And I think were going to get that.

You also have to know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I didnt play any baseball game last year. MLB 06 was equally as boring as MLB2k6 was flawed. But many people here think mlb is the holy grail. I dont.
