Sounds about right. Respectable videogame but it's not the greatest baseball game from a realistic simulation standpoint. It's just clunky enough not to be an accessable arcade style game and there's too many things that are a step behind past baseball games in terms of making the gameplay feel realistic and smooth.

I like the pitching. They can start the rest of this engine over from scratch.

i don't know what game ign is playing. it's like they reviewed it wanted it to be not that good. the review never went into how good the batter/pitcher interface. it really didn't focus on all the real nice things 2k sports did with the game. i am not saying it is perfect, but it definitely should have got a higher rating. but all that is important is that the users, at least on this site, are really loving the game.

I think they did a great job with it, and whoever said keep the pitching, and scrap the rest of the engine, are you serious???
This is why we know better than to trust ign for sports game reviews. Another thing that makes this site great!

the OS reviewers are the best sports game reviewers in the buisness. that includes the mags and all.

They mentioned in the PS3 review that it has excellent self shadowing on the players. I thought the PS3 version didn't have the self shadowing...

yo the guy that review the game sounds like an EA fanboy , no spring training, no AAA, AA and so and so , who cares i dont play spring training games just like i dont play preseason games in football i always sim that part of a franchise . does a game need spring training to be a good game?? HELL NO . this is another IGN review written by an EA fanboy thats all i have to say i think this game should of gotten at least an 8.3

Reading the review I couldn't help but think to myself...

This sounds like one of my friends playing a game and saying "This game sucks" just because they were getting beat or because of dumb stuff they were doing in the game.

I remember how bad 2K6 was and how pissed I was on launch day last year.
Couldn't even finish a game, then they came out with the take off your hard drive fix, but then you couldn't see the replays.

I can't belive the presentation in 2K7, finally action replays after almost every half inning.
Baseball is the one of the few sport video games that I watch ALL the replays.

8.3 to 8.6 easy......

i know im gonna get hammered for this but i agree with the score. Although not for the same reasons ign gives. I want to love this game but i just cant stand the fielding. TO ME its damn near unplayable. If it had a higher camera and i could see more ball flight i would love it. Sorry to say but 7.9 is fair IMO

It's difficult putting a score on this game... it definitely is a greatly improved title in the series... but I feel a score in the low 8's is justified.

The problem is IGN doesn't provide what I would call adequate reasoning for their score. While the game does scream "QUALITY" with it's presentation, I don't think anyone can sit there and honestly say this game is the most "playable" (gameplay-wise) baseball game out there on the market today. You can def. get used to the controls... but things feel stiff and unresponsive, not close to the level we have seen from the 2k Sports brand, IMO.

I'm sure next year they will tighten things up and add more... and I certainly can't wait. 2k8 will be THE game.
