FWIW, I haven't had any issues with the fielding camera but I need to play more games to get a feel for it.
I've only played 2 games but I had a guy run into the wall after he caught the ball and fell back on his azz popping the ball loose. Also had 2 fielders collide going after a pop-up and falling - it was great!

I can't understand how some of you think the fielding is alright. It is absolutely the worst part of the game. It practically makes the game unplayable for me. I can live with some of the infield problems, but the inability to correctly judge where fly balls are going is an absolute killer.

Who was the moron at 2ksports who came up with the idea of using a pale blue icon on green grass!?!?

To not have the camera move to the icon in any way is even more stupid.

Does it really look pale blue on some TV's? Are you playing on a SDTV or an HDTV? The blue circle is pretty damn dark on my 50" Samsung DLP and I can always see it clear as day. I haven't had any problems fielding cept for one small isolated glitch, it could be a tad more responsive, but it's by no means horrible or a gamekiller.

I understand people not liking the way fielding is this year, but I cant belileve how many of you want auto fielding ??? Fielding is a very important part of baseball. What SIM player wouldnt want to field ? Whats next ? Auto hitting ? Auto pitching ? Is hitting and pitching any more important than fielding ?

It is harder than it should be to pick up the ball sometimes and the flyball marker in the OF. Heres a tip. I turned off the names. So you dont see them underneath the fielders. I think it helps you see the ball better because the players name isnt there to distract you.

I'm having the same problem!..just like you, I can't judge the ball where it's going when it is hit!, I can't even see the ball!!..That blue maker is too light..strange that people are saying it's dark and they don't have a problem must be the TV but I'm playing it on a HD TV 32 inch.

I agree with you. This has got to be the worst I've seen since..well I can't think of a game with this bad of a fielding view...wait, I think I remember the old Intelivision Baseball from Eddie Dombower, yea, that had a bad fielding view... I played them all....from Earl Weaver to Tony Larussa and Hightheat and this MLB2K7 is the worst! heck, MLB2K6 had a great fielding camera..and they took it out!! more stupid!

Turning off the fielding zoom helps but 2k should of gave us better camera angles.

To address a couple issues here:

1 - Don't be thrown off by the new camera angle. It's actually quite good. I'm more fond of it than the classic MVP 2005 one after only about 24 games total.

2 - Try some of the sliders that have been submitted. I found after adjusting sliders things became easier, but then again I had played about 12 games before I did a custom slider setup.

3 - Your fielders will react towards the fly ball on a pop-up to the outfield. Just look in that direction and you'll easily spot the icon. Notice that when you're near it the ground below your OF feet also turns blue and when you're centered under where the ball will impact it will be red.

4 - The camera is set up the way it is to help improve framerates from what I can tell and what I've read. Zooming it to the place on the field where the ball will land would sacrifice showing you which player was tracking the ball. Personally, I'd rather see the player and move based on the players reaction direction than to guess at the fielder's relative position and try to move to a zoomed in part of the field when the ball was hit into the gap or along the baselines in the outfield.

5 - Just keep playing. Nothing is ever easy right out of the box! Once you get the hang of it you won't notice these issues.

Many people don't realize that their HDTVs are not calibrated properly for all light conditions right out of the box and fail to calibrate them. I too see the circle just fine even when sunlight is on the TV screen washing the image a bit.

You can get a calibration DVD from just about any electronics shop and a lot of regular DVDs will actually have a "calibration" option. If you haven't already done the calibration I HIGHLY recommend you do it because in some cases the difference is not unnoticeable.

My 34" Sharp Aquos was calibrated HORRIBLY from the factory. After 15 minutes with a calibration DVD the picture was incredibly different and looked much more vibrant in terms of color accuracy and depth.

Re: Fielding on the 360 game

I played about 4 games last night and didn't have any problems with the fielding at all. It didn't even occur to me it would be an issue for some people. I had no problems getting under pop flys at all.

Maybe your TV isn't calibrated correctly? I didn't have any issues not being able to see the blue circle against the green grass.

Edit: poster above beat me to it. I've used calibration discs before and that might be the issue for some of you.

I'm honestly amazed it's a topic of debate.

Same here, on my TV I haven't had a single issue locating where the ball landed (I've played in domes, day games, and night games)

Re: Fielding on the 360 game

For me, it isn't that I can't see the indicator, however it just doesn't stand out enough for me at the moment the ball comes off the bat. It isn't just the color, but the shape. It is supposed to be a circle, but at the terrible angle it is more of just a thick line.

Also, the indicator for where the ball is going to land is the exact same color as the player indicator.

I'm sure I could improve with practice, however I don't want to be doing it in the first place.

It could be different on different TVs as well. I only have a cheap Westinghouse 32 inch HDTV. It isn't the greatest, but it works fine for every game I play.

I'm in agreeance with you EG. No problem fielding whatsoever. I had heard about all the issues some were having but I guess I am one of the lucky ones. Peace!!!

I had lots of problems with fielding on the demo but none at all in the finished game. I'm not sure if I've just gotten used to it or if the fielding is more polished in the release. Maybe both.
