After reading this thread, I was able to rob one, and can get up after them when I get the thumbstick prompt now. Now if I could only get the diving and jumping down. I am way slow on the thumbstick for those two!

Dont hit the button until you reach the warning track. Any time before that and your diving into the wall.

i just want to give people hope that it is possible to rob a homer without the help icons activated, i did it once and can't do it again. but i do remember, i was no where near the wall when i pressed the thumb stick up. still trying to do it again, can't

So what is "The Way" to do this? I have seen one poster say wait till you get on the warning track, then followed by another poster that says do it when you see the icon, which is no where near the warning track. I saw it for the first time last night, too bad it was CPU doing it to me to win a game. As cool as it was, i have dove into the wall about 10 times trying to pull a HR back, and I just can’t figure it out.

So, what is the tried and true way?

I do it right when I see the Icon, no matter if I am close to the wall/track or not! Just push up on R stick right when you see the icon.

Had a corker last night guys.

4-4, bottom 9th, Sox have 2 men on (im Tigers), Jim Thome creams one, looks a homer all the way, the little red arrow to indicate that is there, then, of out nowhere, Magglio Ordonez climbs the wall waaaay high and hauls it in, saves the game with the 3rd out, we to extra innings and i win 7-4 in 11, with Maggs then blasting a 2 RBI double to the wall to win it for me to rub it in.

I've been having trouble with this as well. After it appears(had the tips disable) I press and hold the right stick up and continue running to the arrow?

I was able to do it at will in last years debacle of a game........

So far this year I am simply a career ending injury, that being a severed spinal cord, waiting to happen in the outfield as I watch the ball sail over my head and then just say "F it!.........can't take it anymore.....I am diving face first into the wall!"

Makes my team look real intelligent on the replays too.

Here's the best way to do this. While you're still getting the hang of the wall climbing and diving, leave the help icons on. This way you can really start to notice the proper times to flick the stick (When the icon shows up, all you have to do is flick the stick toward the ball, and the CPU will do the rest. Same goes for wall climbs. When the icon shows, you can flick the stick and put the controller down, as the CPU fields the rest of the play). As you keep playing, you'll start to notice the proper times to flick the stick. As you understand these times, you can then turn off the help icons as you'll probably feel more rewarded for making good plays.

There's no way any of us can tell you the exact proper time. Icons on, rob a few, and then get the feeling on when it usually allows you to do it. Then you should be good to turn the help off.

computer does this waaaaay too much
