    Just my $.02.

LOL! I just wanted to say - that is a bit of an exageration. The mixed up lineups doesn't mean Thome will play short..it means that in some instances he will be batting leadoff of something along those lines. I have yet to hit 12 HR's in a game

    Just an FYI...carry on

Not trying to sway you in either direction, but all the highlighted above can be toned down with sliders.
Well, you don't want hit variety toned down, but the sliders do provide for some great hit variety.
I would suggest going into the sliders forums and checking out what some of the guys have come up with,as there are a few impressive sets.

        Good luck
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I just love being able to have quality at-bats playing The Show.
This is one thing I wish was possible as well, I think it may be but I would have to sit here and alter sliders more then play the game so Im going to have to live with it the way it is for the time being. They just need to add a foul ball slider or something along those lines and we could better establish those great at bats where you battle the pitcher for 6-7 pitches.

They give you a way to have a defensive at bat: push up on the swing stick but it only works if you don't pull back on the stick to stride. This is pretty much useless since you have to basically be taking the pitch before you can do a defensive swing.

From reading posts on this message forum for the last hour or so, it seems like this game is a chore to play. Actually, it seems almost unplayable without any slider adjustments. How can a game like this be great?

Anyhow, I just bought the game, but I might return it because it seems like I have to put too much work into it in order to get the game to play somewhat realistic.
MLB 2K7 has not gotten subpar reviews. The 360 version has a 78.4% ranking at gamerankings.com based on 18 reviews which is pretty good and much better than the 62% ranking 2K6 got last year.

The game is not unplayable out of the box although gameplay is definitely improved by making some slider adjustments. And since when is making slider adjustments considered a gamekiller and a reason to return a game? Hell, I've never, ever owned a sports game where I didn't make slider adjustments. Slider tweaks come with the territory for sports gamers.

I'm guessing you're pretty young then as I still remember playing a lot of sports games that didn't even include sliders.

I also don't think it's unplayable without slider adjustments, but it sure doesn't play a realistic game of baseball without them. However, the good thing is the sliders do work very well.

I found another issue I should have listed above....freezing. Just got done with a great game against Houston, looked at the boxscore and then went to exit out to save my franchise and it froze. Ironically I've had more freezing problems this year than I did last year.

I am with you mjb on the freezing issues. I just got done playing a game Angels vs. Rangers. One of my guys got thrown out and the animation got stuck on the pitcher. The screen didn't freeze because he kept walking back and forth but the game didn't go to the next animation sequence.

Pretty frustrating. Now I save the game about every 4 innings or so.

I'm not young at all, unfortunately, but I've only been playing console sports games for maybe five or six years. Before that I was a hardcore PC racing junkie and would spend hours making adjustments to my race car just to squeeze a few hundredths of a second off of my lap time. I guess that's why I don't have much patience for someone whining about having to spend a few minutes tweaking sliders to improve gameplay.

I never quite understood those who decide that they want to hold up a fort and take a stand against using sliders in a game. I mean are you kidding me? If there were no sliders then a game that sucks out of the box would always suck. Sliders allow you to tweak the game to your liking. And since we all like our game one way or another as witnessed by the massive amont of slider providers we have here on OS, sliders simply present the opportunity to add longevity and authentic gameplay to whomever chooses to use them. I really want someone who is against liders to tell me why they feel that way.

Even HH2004 needed slider adjustments; with pitch speed at 9 for almost every pitch type, the game became super sweet.

I, too, was getting some annoying freezes. I normally leave a game in the 360 when I turn it off. Then, when I want to play again, I turn it on and load up the game. This (for some reason) increases your odds of 2k7 freezing. Every time I play this game now, I make sure to open and close the disc tray before playing. I haven't had a freeze in weeks since doing that.

I will definitely give it a try. It seems like all of my great games are not saved by the time it freezes.

Thanks, I will definately do that. I'm still looking forward to playing this game (once stupid GamenFlix finally gets in in their inventory).
The graphics are incredible and I love the pitching interface.

Until then I'll enjoy The Show on my PS2.

Thanks. I'll try that. I also always leave the game in the tray when I turn the console off as I usually don't want to get up to put the game back in the console the next time I want to play! Worth a shot though...
