Re: I watched the PS3 version of this game being played at Best Buy today...
Play ESPN Major League Baseball again for Xbox. Three/four years ago, we were spoiled with zero jaggies and 60 frames per second. Since then, we've downgraded. In my opinion, these two features are far more important than jersey movement and self-shadowing when we're concerned with visuals. Again, it's probably just me, but hey... I am me (or me is I, or something)... and I'm not going to be able to change that. I would like to see a video of The Show for PS3 and see if they got these two things right; perhaps it will incline me to buy a PS3. Note that I would still buy 2K7 the instant I got a PS3, but it wouldn't be my reason for buying one.
If they choose to step up in graphics next year, I hope it's with anti-aliasing and improved framerate. Again, I don't know what goes into that, but I'm praying for it to be done. I am in no way squinting and looking really hard for these things. When you're pitching from the BTP cam and want to see the player's face, you see a lot of jagged lines instead of a face. I mean, it's just hard to play with. And like I said, controls were sluggish as well. Just small things can really hurt or help the experience of a game, and like I said... you would notice the difference if they make the difference.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I agree, I have the ps3 version, and I myself see no slowdown during gameplay, at all. Yeah I see some slow down when in cut sceens between innings, like of the fans, but who cares, I just skip it anyway, and if you want you can turn the cut sceens off, problem solved..Oh well...N.Y Mets

I realize every body has different opinions, but this game plays great to me. The way the ball is thrown to first by the infields looks so real and a lot of the animation is amazing!Comment

Again, this may have to do with BB having a display PS3 running on the bare minimum amount of hardware rather than a regular PS3, but maybe not.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I agree scott. the only thing I see with some guy's sliders is that they having infield throwing speed so slow, which to makes it look a little funny, I have the speed with my sliders just right for me that it looks smooth. Oh well thats just me.N.Y Mets

I don't know... perhaps I just have that good of an eye.

Not in the stadiums, only in the players. I don't make these things up, and if I did, they would be for a good reason.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I'm not going to argue about this. Look at the players. Instead of a smooth curve, it's jagged lines. Jagged lines = jaggies. It looks worse in motion, because the jaggies float all over the players. The stadiums, on the other hand, are gorgeous.Last edited by Blzer; 04-04-2007, 01:46 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Sorry, that's a BS photo. The player models in this game don't look like that. Don't know what/where you were looking at this, but I can tell you, on my TV (58" JVC HDTV) this game shines. Doesn't look anything like this, even on my buddies PS3 with an older model t.v.Comment

Then come to Mission Valley again, but instead of Barnes and Noble (or Borders or wherever) come to Best Buy with me. Stand in front of the Samsung 42" LCD HDTV and display PS3 with MLB 2K7 in the console like I did (or you could sit, I guess). No need to pick up a controller... you'll see jaggies on the players just like in that screenshot. The dirt? The grass? The walls? The structures? Jaggy-free. The players do not have anti-aliasing. I believe this was even confirmed in an interview. If not, then I'm making stuff up... but you can't make that screenshot up. IGN wouldn't purposely dumb down the game's look for us.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
