    Article on improving MLB 2k8

Lets hope they not only take those things into account, but also work on other problems that we fans notice as well.

Interesting that IGN didn't notice the strike zone was at players' chins, but they're right. Those are probably the three biggest and most important elements that need improving. I always considered those givens, however... those are issues that they know about (you can read how Brinkman even says that he knows about all of those). They need to be told, however, that some other things do not represent Major League Baseball, and I hope that they get some of that stuff done too.

Hey, this is a three-year project, and I will be patient. The problem is, however, if after three years they still don't address some of these issues. The double-switch problem has been in this game since 2K2. Though there's a work-around this year, it was still a lazy effort.

Let's hope they keep their promises.

Trust me your money is well spent. 2K7 is not nearly as bad as Brinkman made it sound. yeah the fielding isn't great but it isn't horrible. At least you can field the ball. Yeah 2k8 is probabally going to be better but this game is a very good game no doubt.

They had a nine-month development cycle to did what they did from 2K6 to 2K7. I sometimes question what their focus is on, but I would never question their efforts on those focuses. Eighty (plus) hours a week for developers is not quite considered effortless, is it?

When you're ordering 2K8, you're going to hear the same thing about 2K9. I guess I'd advise that if this is the way you feel, wait two more years until you buy a baseball game.

As bwiggy said... this is a very good game. No doubt.

It is a very good game. While it is cool they are going to fix a lot of things, but I think the team should get some major credit for turning this game around.

for me, the strike zone sizes change from batter to batter blzr

i might have to rent the bigs because i love what they mentioned. bringing someone up the minors. could be really fun

Well, I don't want to make this a different thread, but just to clarify, I know the strike zone varies from batter to batter... they just have the height and size wrong overall. Just too high and big (vertically).

I wonder how many more improvements we'll see this year with about a 25% longer development time. I'm guessing that, aside from AI issues, they aren't going under the hood as much this year, and we'll see many more improvements this year (perhaps not as many in the animation department, but everything should definitely look cleaner). I'm just hoping for some of my wishes, and at the same time I'm hoping for the "givens", like what IGN spotted out. Nevertheless, it is a great game and a great series.

I agree also, yeah there are things that need fixed, but what they were able to accomplish is a good sign..2K6 was terrible...2K7 is a good game that has some small issues but overall is very enjoyable...I like the fact that a developer makes thier game sound worse than it really is..Hopefully that means they are putting forth all effort & won't be satisfied till they have a great product that we all enjoy & love to play..better than some game companies that try to make thier products sound better than they really are....I

oh ok i know what you mean blzr. i think 2k8 will have def. have a few new animations for pitching and hitting and as stated, the fielding should be redefined

I am kinda excited about The Biggs because thats what I was looking for this year. A superstar type mode. CAN'T SAY IT ENOUGH

Good post. I loved when Brinkman said he thought the fielding "sucks". He did do a great job making an almost laughable game into a very enjoyable one this year. Game is flat out beautiful, not get under that hood Ben!

so basically is saying that 2K7 sucks and you are all suckers for buying it right? he claims that 2k8 is and was his goal. if so, why didn't he say "the fiedling sucks" about a month ago before people bought the game.

it is always the same story; wait until next year. we keep buying the games that have know flaws by these companies and we continually hear the same story.

for me, i am playing mvp 05 on the xbox. but i was disappointed when i saw pujols was on the bench and a rookie was starting? so it seems that all of the baseball titles can't get the lineups correct. but in mvp i simply traded the rookie to another team so pujols could start. i can't do this is 2k7

Im pretty sure he wasn't implying that, and if you bought the game you'd realize that it's pretty good. The Show is probably the way to go but those of you who only have the 360 its not a bad alternate.
