3-0 Counts
I cannot stand that everytime I work the count to 3-0, I know the CPU is going to throw the next pitch straight down the middle. I have had to make a house rule that I won't swing at any 3-0 count, but I just think it takes away from the experience to have to do this.

Re: 3-0 Counts
I see your point.........but...If you were a pitcher and was going 3-0,what would your next pitch be? hopefully a strike. And,if you are starting to lose your stuff or you are rattled, keeping it in the money zone might be your only choice. I do agree though that this game can throw some cheese at you. I've tinkered with the stamina/throw to corners/and meat pitch,so for the time being,I've seen this cut down. I can draw more walks with this game than just about anything else I've ever played, including the new Show.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

Re: 3-0 Counts
I think the problem isn't the fact that they throw it right down the middle because that is pretty realistic. The problem is the fact that even if you aren't moving the batter's eye around, it is automatically centered so it tells you it's coming right there. I've definitely had to control myself to keep from whaling on those pitches many times.Comment

Re: 3-0 Counts
Yup. That's basically what I was saying in my last post. Managers (in reality)do NOT like walks, unless the pitcher was instructed to do so. Also, pitchers are more likely to get yanked earlier for throwing garbage than they use to.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

Re: 3-0 Counts
I don't find a problem with it.
Most hitters are told to not swing on 3-0, so the pitcher usually throws one down the pipe.
It's life. There are circumstances where they will throw it a ball for a 4 pitch walk, but usually, 95% of the time, it will be down the pipe.XBox 360 GT: XFactor416Comment

Re: 3-0 Counts
And if you want actual statistics, 3-0 counts don't happen often. (2.43% of all plate appearances) More than 50% of the time it ends up being a 4 pitch walk. (65.08%)Last edited by TheProfessional; 04-08-2007, 01:02 PM.Comment

This is my take on it as well. The batters eye is the problem.Chicago Cubs

Re: 3-0 Counts
So maybe the best house rule to have is not to not swing on 3-0 counts, but rather just don't use your batters eye on 3-0 counts. This can be achieved by moving the batter's eye all the up to your batter's head or something.Comment

Re: 3-0 Counts
I'm not the one that mentioned that,but- I can say I always have that inside edge stuff off and I draw anywhere from 2 walks up per game. Good stuff, and it's about time for a game to do that for someone that swings at 7 out of 10 pitches no matter what!-j.k.- before this game,I did swing at too many dumb pitches,I still do,but that went way down after I realized I can work a count now.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

It would just be best if turning the Batter's Eye feature off means that it is gone, rather than just invisible.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
