But some pitchers just can't find the dish. Not enough 4 pitch walks in this game.

Somewhat true, but a pitchers isn't grooving one to Ryan Howard 3-0. Though for me it doesn't much matter - if I pick the right location of a pitch I still swing and miss about 70% of the time. I just can't get the timing right.

Won't the pitcher still throw it down the pipe anyway. It just won't be in your batter's eye but the red circle will still show up or will it?

If you don't do anything to the batters eye, then by default it is in the middle of the zone, and so when the pitcher throws one right down the middle the batters eye picks it up. I was suggesting that on 3-0 counts, you take the batters eye and move it way out of the strike zone (someplace the pitcher will definitely not throw it). You're probably going to still get the pitch right down the middle, but at least you won't know it with 100% certainty. This essentially has the same effect as being able to turn off the batters eye only on 3-0 counts.

I think you guys are giving pitchers too much credit.

Yes, most pitchers try and pipe one 3-0 when they know the hitters not going to swing. But why would you think that a guy who couldn't hit his spot on the first 3 pitches could all of a sudden pipe exactly down the midde just because the count is 3-0. If he missed the locaiton on the 0-0, 1-0 and 2-0 pitches, why wouldn't he miss his location on the 3-o pitch.

I understand that they try and throw one down the middle, but the pitch before they tried to throw on the corner and missed. So why would this pitch be any different

I do believe that unless your Barry Bonds, Pujols or some other deadly power hitter, the pitcher is going to groove a fastball, so I have no problem if this pitch is a fastball most of the time, but to have it placed right in the heart of the plate is just unrealistic. PItchers don't all of a sudden become robots when the count hits 3-0.
