Guys, I need help, I just can't stop hitting home runs!

I know this problem has been addressed to death, but I've tried everything and can't solve the problem.

I've lowered the power sliders (using a rendition of Heelfan's) and raised the pitch speed. I've made both human and AI pitcher difficulty 100. Didn't work.

So I went into the player ratings. Lowered power and home run numbers. Figured this would solve the problem. Nope.

And for those of you who will complain, I DO NOT hold up on the thumb stick, I go with the pitch ala MVP. The problem is that whenever I get an inside fastball, gone! Doesn't matter if it's ARod or Robinson Cano. And yes, I use the Yankees, but as I said, I've lowered all of their individual ratings.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

How far down did you lower the ratings? May need to lower some more.

Lower the pitch speed to 35-45. You said you raised it, which causes it to fly off the bat. Someone gave a nice write-up on this earlier and it has helped me. Give the lower pitch speed a chance (2-3 games) and you will adjust. I had it at 65-70 and was cranking out 2-4 HRs a game. Now, I just use DKrause's rosters, a mix of HeelFan's and Prof's sliders and I'm getting about 1-1.5 over my past 10-12 games. Pretty realistic IMO. Good luck!

P.S. Since I really feel I'm a little weak with the sticks at baseball games, you may be better than me with timing your swing, but I think lowering the pitch speed has helped a great deal. Especially with variety of hits.

Just let go of the thumbstick. If you time it right, it will go to the correct field. You will only see 1 to 2 homeruns a game this way.

If you lower contact (which also affects HR's) power and HR ratings low enough, it's impossible to hit ANY HR's. So one solution is to keep lowering ratings. You also didn't say your power slider was at 0, although even that doesn't stop the bombs in this game.

Use DKrause's newest roster set and use Heelfans sliders.
I have only hit 39 hrs in 23 games in my Reds season with this combo.

I agree. Don't go with pitch because by going with the pitch, your still telling the batter to use the power swing. Only press down and release, you will still see homeruns, but power will be reduced. You will still see a hit variety as well.

Why are you complaining? I would be happy if I was hitting a lot of home runs and won a lot of ball games. Alex Rodriguez isn't complaining. I am, and I think that he should lower his power rating... but that's a different story.

Then you will love 2K7. Crank the power slider to 100 (or just leave it at 0 - doen't make much difference either way) and jam the swing stick up on every swing. You'll wet your drawers with HR happiness, I guarantee.

No, I was actually kidding with my post.

But the thing is, this is how everybody is, even myself. If I found a realistic set of sliders that proved themselves through, say, 100 games, and then I hit a multi-home run game with somebody like Dave Roberts, then I would be finding something to edit and lower. I myself can't figure out why in the hell I think something is wrong with the game when something like that happens. I should just keep them as they are, but I never do. I should be happy that I hit two home runs with him, but instead I'm more pissed.

                        I knew you were kidding.

But your comments don't really jive with the reality or the specific issue here. A-rod has 8 HR's this year. Unusual, but not out of whack, especially when you look at the HR totals rest of the Yankees. But in 2K7, you'd have the entire Yankee lineup with 6 or more HR's each after 2-3 weeks. That's when you KNOW there's something out of whack with the game, ratings, sliders, whatever.

Changing this to 35 and laying off the left thumb (except for meat pitches) has changed this game for me. I can go an entire game or two w/o a HR occasionally.
