fat, i know ur being flooded with questions here but why isnt eric byrnes in the game but yet the A's have two fictouis (sp?) players in the minors? wouldnt it make sense for eric byrnes to be in there instead of a made up guyy?

Hey FatPitcher, is Andres Galarraga on San Francisco? If not, where is he?

Also, are there splash hits? Like in Pac Bell and PNC Park?

Oh yeah, one more question... will they have an ESPN highlight of the week like on NFL 2K3? That was SWEET!

Re: FatPitcher, a couple of WSB questions

I bought ASB and WSB last year and liked WSB more. The most glaring problems in WSB to me were the lack of the jump feature and the reincarnated players. My brother and I each head the reincarnated Roger Clemens and Edgar Martinez as rookies. I own NHL2K3 and like the way they did it better. They randomize the draft picks and don't give me a young 19 year old Steve Yzerman.

I can deal with the lack of minor league teams and the no name calling for one more year. I do think that the AI should be able to recognize a random name like Ichiro Maddux , though since their names are in the commentary.

It seems that the gameplay is almost identical to last years so this could make it or break it for me. I got what I wanted in a hockey game this year but I would be even happier with a true baseball game.

Sorry for the post length, I'm not much of a poster.

                Guys,
With all of these fictitious players, will there be a site that posts what their real names are so we can edit them? Strat-O-Matic fans have a site that figures out who they are and posts their names. While I'm on the subject, is there a Sega site where this game can be discussed when it comes out? I'm sold on WSB for this season.

There's a forum on sega.com, but you don't want to go there. You may want to try the WSB forum at baseballsimcentral.com. There was a guy on this board who said a couple days ago he was setting up a "missing players" site, so you could hunt around for that.

Fictitious major leaguers are replacements for scabs, etc. but fictitious minor leaguers are just filler and aren't replacing anybody in particular.

If you read earlier in the post, Fatpitcher posted SF's minor league roster and Damon Minor was on it. Since Minor, Snow, and Galaraga are the only 1B's in camp, I would assume that the major league roster has snow and the big cat.

                    Just my deduction though...

FP, please tell me that they've fixed Sammy's batting stance. It was blown last year. High heat has the hands down best Sosa stance. It's almost 100% correct on there. How is it on WSB this year?

That's what I was wondering too.

Another question... for PS2, is this a blue disc like High Heat? Because my PS2 doesn't read blue discs anymore.
