Re: Too many HRs is not an issue in 2K8
I agree you cant judge the game until you play it. The videos looked the same as last years which is fine. If the new pitching/hitting systems work out (i think they will), if they toned down the home runs, added a more variety of hits (too many base hits up the middle, not enough shots in the hole or down the line) if the field camera is better and the opposite field hitting is toned down then the game should be good to go.
The only thing I can take out of that video is that the crowds, once again, seem dull like last year's and Brinkman said that would be improved upon.Comment

Re: Too many HRs is not an issue in 2K8
I was wondering if hit balls will follow a pattern or will hits be "sprayed" around the field. It seems in the vides that Jeter & Tulowitzki's HR followed a similar trail. I think we want sprayed hits not the same pattern.Comment

Re: Too many HRs is not an issue in 2K8
I think it's pretty hilarious that people think homeruns are too easy to hit off two videos that were made to show the players hit homeruns.
Think about that. That's like saying that McDonalds has too many customers that like to play basketball because their new commercials shows guys playing basketball and then eating a Big Mac with fries."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

C'mon....
I'm going to say the same thing I said in the RIDICULOUS thread that accused the devs of another company of "doctoring" the photos with absolutely no reason to do so...and it was just piss poor decorum.
There is no place for accusations like this on these boards.
The devs of this game worked hard.....regardless of what is being said about the game....to accuse them of shady practices is uncalled for.
You could say what you want about the game...that's your opinion.....but to throw out statements like this is just flat out wrong.

Nope, HRs will all follow the same trail to Left Field. That one section will get all the attention. Its in the interview...

Re: Too many HRs is not an issue in 2K8
I know this is a joke and I'm pretty sure that homeruns won't follow the same path but it is a pretty good complaint when the only two homeruns you see are hit to the same spot.
Again, I'm sure that won't be a problem. Coincidence maybe."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Too many HRs is not an issue in 2K8
The MLB series has improved over each iteration (except perhaps WSB 2k3 to MLB 2k4) each time adding something new and cool to the gameplay. It looks like they've done a good job of improving the game yet again.
I have no worries that this game will be an improvement over 2k7, which I think is a very solid game of baseball. I, for one, will be purchasing the game on release day. I'm sure the framerate is just fine. How do you accurately judge framerate by short vidoes streamed over the internet? That doesn't make any sense at all to me. The transcoding itself is too big of a variable to say that it itself wasn't the culprit to the slight hiccups in the videos.
A year from now, when we're all still playing this game on XBL, we can come back to these threads and chuckle.--

Give me break, Kush came on here because he is a cool guy and he wanted to let us now things are fine. He didn't come on here to pump up the game and make us buy it. I trust him, one thing I can said about Kolbe and Kush they have been very honest and we at OS are very thankful. Thanks again Kush your game looks fun to play.Comment
