I've already noticed a tremendous amount of improvement from last year. The signature style refinements are gorgeous- Beckett and Webb were absolutely perfect. The hitting model looks completely redone and much improved.

I had no problem with those homers either- Webb threw a changeup down and in and Tulowitzki golfed it out of the park. No big deal. The Jeter pitch was also down and in but I've seen him (unfortunately) yank those out of the park. Sure, the IGN guys helped the cause by throwing up meatballs but there is nothing outrageous about seeing those homeruns.

This sounds like someone reported back to the man about everyone bashing the game and then a PR rep reported back to that certain someone and said tell them what they want to hear.

This cynicisms and over-analysis is hilarious. This is a completely unfounded assertion on your part. What are you trying to prove or achieve with this post? KG has been pretty damn honest on these boards and I have little reason to doubt what he says.

I would think after all 2k bad or invisible PR they would try to wow us and silence the critics with something new but it looks like the same old stuff with horrible audio.
Till I see more its The Show for me.
Im sure kushgamer is sincere but what are we supposed too think after the IGN stuff.
You think they would promote their own 2k gamesite and show there Game???

I didn't even have a problem with the HR's. It obviously was the IGN guys that didn't know how to play. Like a poster said previously one HR was on a change up low and in. If you know baseball you don't want to miss inside with a changeup because most of the time it's going to be hit and hit hard.

I want to see video of somebody good playing the CPU!!! I don't want to see 2 on 2 gameplay videos. That does not speak justice for the game. I think we will see a lot of HR's when we first play because we are gonna initially suck at the new pitching and serve up meatballs to the CPU. I am not concerned AT ALL.

If you watch the IGN vids, these guys were mostly throwing "Meatballs". I wonder if they were intentionally doing it to jack homers? That is also why they were mostly in the strikezone. Meatballs end up at a random location within the zone and have a very low "pitch quality score" in the calculations, thus making them extremely hittable. When executing the interface properly, the results are very nice. You'll be able to get the feel for it in the demo.

When the game is played properly, it plays an amazingly accurate game of baseball. It really feels right. I'm not trying to sell copies here either (viewers of this site make up maybe 0.1% of everyone that will buy the game, so it doesn't really matter what I say on here). I'm trying to get people not to over-react to 4 plays of watching a 2-player game where they are serving the ball up to each other - that's wiffle ball, not baseball.

Take it from a guy who when people ask what his religion is, generally replies, "The closest thing I have to religion is baseball. My deities are the Yankees and on Sunday I go to Yankee Stadium to practice my faith." I've played baseball my whole life and when I wasn't doing that, I was playing video games. This game is a lot of fun. I hope you guys will check out the demo or rent it if you're not willing to drop the $60 right off the bat.

Hey I'm not a kiss-up, and I don't mind going against the grain...It almost seems like a few guys are looking for an excuse to hate 2K's effort here...

I'm a Baseball fanatic I love the game of baseball and when I was young I played all out Pete Rose style of ball...

I just don't get all this negativity, This is year 2 of polishing this incredible looking and better playing game...That of coarse is if Ben Brinkman is telling the truth, which I have no doubt he is...

I'm truly looking forward to playing this beautiful looking and I have no doubt beautiful playing sim baseball game!

                        P.S.
The IGN guys were trying to show us what the Home-Runs looked like...

Yeah im not worried about HR's this was just IGN showing us what a bomb looked like, anyone reading into this I think is looking too hard to find something to hate, I can be critical too and am sometimes, but this game looks not too bad, we need to FEEL it out, not just see it.

The disapointment really just lies with the commentary if u ask me, so far... and potential framerate problems but even those i think were IGN's fault. if 2k was smart (which they arent) they would release a demo ASAP, not for my amusement but to save some of those people who have seemingly made there decision and considered 2k8 a write off..

Hmmmm I just pulled this thought out of my *** but what if the game actually scaled back the cutscenes and homerun celebrations for 2 player games and those are only in the single player games? Again like I said I pulled that out of my arse but it gives me some hope however fake it may be.......

i'm not worried about the home run issue, i'll pass judgement for now until i play the game myself with difficulty adjustments and slider tweaks, i just hope there is no framerate issue and that the game runs very fluid and smooth and responsive....

the framerate is all that im worried about right now...the gameplay looks awesome! The hitting looks on par with mvp, the pitching and fielding looks like alot of fun. The framerate seemed kinda bad in the videos. And maybe kushgamer could enlighten us, but maybe it was because ign didnt get a final build copy. So hopefully the framerate issue will be ironed out for the final product when it hits shelves.
