Dang, most of you folks never saw the 2k5 halftime show before? You guys have been deprived.

This is more what we were discussing though - something like this in mid-game (albeit much shorter):

If you've never seen this, prepare to be blown away.

baseball takes too long to add too much extra...they should do a weekly show like 2k5 did ( i always thought it was wierd to start the show by clicking the right stick, i bet a lot of people didin't even know it existed)
Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.

I guess that was their way of saying you were changing the channel or something. You know the old saying, "Pass me the clicker" lol

Word! Tell the the truth ruth. I can't believe you guys missed out on that.

I don't think we'll get that show. We haven't yet. Look at the NBA series. They've been trimming and trimming every year with that aspect.

What do you think it might be? Do you think it will be just spoken updates and scores, with actual game changing events that happened in other games? Or would they go one step further and show actual HIGHLIGHTS of a HR or a play that inning of another CPU game going on?

Also, wouldn't it just be a shocker and rock if a milestone is reached, or about to, and they cut away in between a play or inning to try and get that coverage?

Then again, it could just be insight to what is going on in the current game, kind of like the "down on the field" people local game casts have. Which would still be pretty neat as well.

i don't remember that interview where it was discussed

can u link me to it?
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

I think the early NHL games from EA had this.

much like MVP 2005 is seen as the best baseball game ever created, i feel the same about NFL 2k5. That was some great football!

A matter of opinion. While I think that MVP 2005 was a great game and was a ton of fun to play, I think as far as baseball goes most people still consider High Heat the best game and if not then they likely put the Show above it.

But I agree 100% that NFL 2k5 was phenomenal on many different levels and was/is my favorite football game of all time.

The NHL games may have had that as well, although I don't remember them having it. but for sure Madden had it, I just can't remember what year exactly.

                      It's hard to explain, really....

The game was substandard graphically even for its own time (though the last one, 2004 was a HUGE step up from 2003 in both animations and graphics), but what made it so good was the ability to tweak pretty much anything in the game through a tune file. This is PC only, obviously - the console game did have sliders but they couldn't get near as detailed as this.

I'm not going to copy the whole thing into this thread, but I will attach it so you guys can see just what all you could do with the game mechanics, with some time and patience.

Not all of it worked, mind you - we could never get the weather (rain) working in-season. But pretty much everything in that file has some sort of effect on the game.

Edit: Also, I'll be glad to take this to the other baseball games thread.
