Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever. -
Re: Found video on 2k forum
Oh come on, let's not play this game. Yes, I own a PS3, and yes I will be buying The Show '08, and yes, I would like to buy 2K8 as well. I also play PYS. So, I pretty much will buy any baseball game worth a purchase.
I'd hoped for better with 2K8, with all the secrecy and the talk about a year and a half in development (they've been talking about this one before the last one was released), so I'll be forgiven for expecting to be blown away by this year's game.
I'd like to say that the game has taken massive strides from 2K7, but I'm not seeing it. Graphically the game is nice, but we haven't seen anything that rivals the 2007 CES videos. Maybe it's the quality of the videos released, and they could be doing the game a major injustice, but I'm really not impressed.
Seriously, are they trying to sell this game at all? A handful of shoddy videos from IGN, and now this, it's beginning to look like there was more talk than time and sweat going into this production.Comment

Re: Found video on 2k forum
You know what Brinkman touched upon that absolutely hits a nerve?
He was trying to say that the 'out of the box' experience of the game is what 2K7 was lacking. For all of us crazies that use sliders---the general population never finds out how good a baseball game can be.
So I'm hoping the default settings are fine tuned, so I can talk about MLB2K8, and not MLB2K8*.Comment

Re: Found video on 2k forum
I just don't see that much difference from 2k7. You could have told me it was the same game and I would have believed it. I think it's too early to say for sure, but I think I am going to pass on this game after all. The animations are very robotic IMO. I just don't see any drastic improvement that the game needed.
I'll keep watching but it's not a must buy after seeing that.NFL: Tennessee Titans

"But they did help us finish"... Did you guys catch this? So, I think that may put to rest all the ideas of tweaks, changes, stances, motion captures, etc... being added before a March release date. It would be my opinion that this game is done, wrapped, and ready to ship as soon as the legal BS is completed. I think any chance of re-writing code, and a re-write that could possibly result in more issues to resolve... not so much. This game is done.

Next year they need to add some batter walk-up music, instead of that organ just playing randomly throughout each game.Comment

Re: Found video on 2k forum
There are a few things that they can do to better themselves. I like how they eliminated the zoom during the windup with the BTP cam, but I would much prefer that they don't zoom one bit, even during the pitch.
Also, I know a lot of people would prefer that there is the slightest delay after contact, so we can actually watch the path of the ball from that view before we see it put in play. It's more realistic, it will give you a better sense of where the ball is going, and it just looks better.
I also hope this top-down fielding view isn't just an alternative that flat out sucks. I hope it's the real deal, actually. Maybe more like a realistic broadcast shot, where fly balls and line drives get some more attention from the camera.
But the biggest thing is definitely the music. "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window" organ music has to go.
I'm really hoping the guy on the 2K forums was right or is lucky to fall on some right answers, in that this build was very old and there are more great things to come. Hopefully the demo will give us all a very close representation of what we're actually going to play when the game hits stores.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Thank you Enigma, I thought I had heard it, thought maybe it was just me. Custom songs would be awesome. Had anyone used the 2kbeats feature to try and do that? I know you are supposed to be able to upload music into their beats and I think you should be able to go into the music menu and choose what plays during different parts of the game, ie between innings, home run trot, etc.My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.
