Oh come on, let's not play this game. Yes, I own a PS3, and yes I will be buying The Show '08, and yes, I would like to buy 2K8 as well. I also play PYS. So, I pretty much will buy any baseball game worth a purchase.

I'd hoped for better with 2K8, with all the secrecy and the talk about a year and a half in development (they've been talking about this one before the last one was released), so I'll be forgiven for expecting to be blown away by this year's game.

I'd like to say that the game has taken massive strides from 2K7, but I'm not seeing it. Graphically the game is nice, but we haven't seen anything that rivals the 2007 CES videos. Maybe it's the quality of the videos released, and they could be doing the game a major injustice, but I'm really not impressed.

Seriously, are they trying to sell this game at all? A handful of shoddy videos from IGN, and now this, it's beginning to look like there was more talk than time and sweat going into this production.

Not a fan of the same boring commentary...seems like 2k doesnt focus much on that...see NBA 2k8. game looks good i might just be going for a change of pace this season and give MLB: The Show a try for once

Where did you hear this title has been in development for a 1 year 1/2? Can you provide a link?

I agree about the shroud of secrecy... although I wouldn't go as far as to say they weren't working hard on the game. Looks like the pitching will be fun... but it may get old quick. Probably my only concern...

This reminds me a lot of MVP... year 1 to 2 wasn't a HUUUUUGE jump either.... and look how the 3rd year turned out: Instant classic.

Looks to be improving on the foundation that was in 2k7.... and according to some, that's all they wanted.

Brinkman said that work had already started on 2K8 prior to the 2K7 release. I'm trying to find the link to his blog that was updated last year.

I know exactly what you mean...by the arm speed, it seems like every pitch should be 100MPH, but the ball kind of floats out...looks like one hell of a change up

, but unfortunately it looks this way on fastballs.

I guess though, if you lower pitch speed, you're not changing the arm speed of the pitcher, so the lower you go, the more obvious and awkward this will look.

Yes... he even threw over to 1st when it was 1st and 3rd.

FF, I understand what you are saying brother, and obviously that's part of the game.....But without being condescending( im not trying to sound like that ) is that something that would really bother you, or take that much away from the game, if it plays a solid game out of the box?......

It would only bother me in the sense, that I could take a big lead off and not know if the pitcher knew. Part of the little game within the game between pitchers and runners is based on this. Runners will time pitchers deliveries and count their looks to a base to see if they get in a pattern, which allows them to get better jumps. If there are no looks and the pitcher magically knows your lead is too big without looking than that takes away any advantage that a runner would have.

Have to somewhat agree.... how many times have you watched a real game and screamed at a pitcher to "throw over to 1st" and they didn't?

It's not like they aren't throwing over ever.

Can I mention also, maybe just my experience, but the runner tagged up and made it to third without a throw on a medium deep fly ball. That never happened on 2k7. The outfielder cannons were always able to at least make the play close. Like to see yet some more realism to the game.

The biggest thing I was impressed with was the player-unique batting stances. I mean Franklin Gutierrez was the only player (out of seven) in that video without a unique batting stance. That's pretty awesome.
